Announcement    REALLY BEAUTIFUL RECYCLED WOOD. Everything is handcrafted by me in my tiny workshop. I scavenge wood from local woodlands for the footstools and find discarded wood pallets for the birdboxes and milk caddies. Offcuts, often donated by friends or collected from builders' skips, are used for other products. I never purchase any wood, only nails, screws, glue and hinges. I add some wood stain, wood oil, and a coat of varnish and you have a unique, rustic, handmade gift for someone who appreciates the unusual.

About WoodstoolCraft

Video summary: Here are some of the items I put together in my garage/workshop. The footstools are made from scavenged wood and the bird boxes from old pallets.

It all started with a repair

I bought some seagrass and made a repair to an old footstool. I had some seagrass left over so I made a stool frame out of wood I found in our local nature reserve. Everyone said how good it looked so I thought maybe I could make some more.0
Seagrass is quite costly, and only in one colour, so I bought some Jute and tried various patterns and colours.
LOOK AT MY FACEBOOK PAGE TO SEE COLOUR AND PATTERN OPTIONS
I have also added many other items to my product range in particular bird boxes made with wood from old pallets and other offcuts, Every bird box is unique. no two are the same. Aso Bug Hotels and Tea Light holders as table centre-pieces.
My best seller is a wooden milk caddy/milk store, made to hold two, three or four standard milk bottles. A hinged lid to keep birds and other voracious animals out. All from recycled wood.

I am retired and love working with wood scavenged from woodlands. As well as footstools I make Bird boxes, Bird Feeders, Bird Tables and Bug Hotels. Most popular are the door step Milk Stores, all from recycled wood, mainly old pallets.

Frequently asked questions
Sizing details

All my products are hand-made and the sizes quoted may well vary slightly. I am happy to send photos with more accurate dimensions if size is critical.

Custom and personalised orders

I am able to customise footstools with variations on weave or colours of Jute. However it will take up to two weeks to create a customised footstool. See my FACEBOOK page for all variations on colours, patterns and materials. Milk Caddies too can be customised to suit other bottle or carton sizes.

Care instructions

Footstools are made from scavenged wood and receive a light, dull, varnish coat. They should not be left near a heat source, such as an open fire, wood stove or hot radiator as the wood may dry out, bend or fracture.
All wood used is recycled. I treat it with teak oil and a light coat of a full varnish. Retreating the wood once a year with teak oil well help it last and keep it looking good. Milk Caddys, if left outdoors, should be re-varnished occasionally.

Delivery lead time and stock held

I always have some footstools and bird boxes in stock. Their styles and finishes vary and I am happy to send photos of current stock for you to select. If I do not have the exact colour of footstool you require in stock it will take about 6 days to make one. Please contact me. I make MILK CADDIES to order. They take 4-5 days to make. Delivery is by UPS standard service (2 days). A signature is required upon delivery.

Do you need a signature upon delivery

Yes, I use UPS who will only leave the package if it is signed for. You can have the package delivered to a UPS Collection Point near you (usually a corner shop). Please ask for this by contacting me prior to shipment.
