The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
In the unlikely event that any goods are faulty, please notify us of the problem within 30 days of the dispatch date, via email to sales [!at] exclusivelyhandmadecrafts.co.uk and include photographs clearly showing the fault.

Faulty goods must be returned to us in their original condition and packaging.

Please note, our guards have a choice of velcro, button or stud fastening so they can be put on/removed easily by your child. These guards are intended as an aid for the child to use independently. Please select the fastening most suited to your child's ability. As all children are unique, even when measurements are provided, occasionally the fit of the wrist fastening may be too loose or too tight on arrival, with button or snap fastenings. This is not a fault with the guard or due to careless measuring. Other factors can alter hand and wrist size from day to day, such as heat, fluid and time of day measurements were taken. The best action with button fastenings is for Buttons to be removed by you and relocated to a more suitable position for your child. With snap fastenings please wrap the guard around your child's wrist and mark the position you wish the snap to be positioned. Then return the guard to us. We will add a second snap for the adjustment.

Exclusively Handmade will either provide a refund or an alternative product, whichever you prefer upon receipt of the returned goods. However, we do not provide a refund or replacement where damage has been caused to the product by the customer through accident or misuse.

If your order is the wrong size due to incorrect measurements being ordered or provided, please email us to inform us of your intention to return the goods within 30 days of the dispatch date. Return the goods unused, in their original condition and packaging, within 14 days of the date of your email, and Exclusively Handmade will provide an exchange or refund. However, please note, we will not refund your postage in these circumstances and, in the event of a replacement product in the correct size being sent, the customer will be required to pay the additional postage charge in full (unsubsidised).

In circumstances where we message a customer to confirm measurements etc, should the dispatch date arrive before we have received a response, we will dispatch the order using the measurements provided when originally ordered. Should these be incorrect, the above stands.

If you change your mind about your purchase, please email us to inform us of your intention to return the goods within 30 days of the dispatch date. Return the goods unused, in their original condition and packaging, within 14 days of the date of your email, and Exclusively Handmade will provide an exchange or refund. However, please note, we will not refund your postage in these circumstances.

Returns will only be accepted for bespoke or bulk orders if the items were faulty upon receipt as these items were made to specific requirements.

This policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Unless otherwise stated, our thumb guard products are shipped Standard New Zealand post.

We aim to have all items dispatched within the specified processing times where possible. Should this not be the case, we will inform you of an estimated delivery time as soon as possible after ordering.

Items are not deemed 'lost in the post' until 15 working days after dispatch have passed. Therefore, refunds for items not received will not be considered until after this time.

INTERNATIONAL

Our thumb guard products will be sent Standard International post. We do not currently offer a tracked and signed for option due to high costs for this service.

Items posted to areas outside of New Zealand can take 2-4 weeks from dispatch due to delays as the items clear customs. These delays can be longer at busy postal times of the year such as Christmas.

You may also be required to pay additional customs charges as imposed by your country before your items are delivered to you.

Items are not deemed 'lost in the post' until 25 working days after dispatch have passed. Therefore, refunds or replacement for items not received will not be considered until after this time.
Additional policies and FAQs
Products on this website are unique and it is rare that specific colour combinations will be repeated. Furthermore, as all items are individually handmade, no two will be identical in terms of dimensions, fabric textures ect. Therefore, whilst Exclusively Handmade welcomes requests for colour preferences, and combinations and will always work closely with customers to meet their requirements, it is not always possible to supply an item in a particular colour. Additional charges could be incurred dependent on the specified changes but customers will be informed of the costs before payment is due.

Bulk/wholesale orders are welcome and discounts may be given dependent on order size.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering, including the hand measurements of the person for whom the guards are intended. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of thumb guard or plush toy for example), if you contact me directly.

• As needed to provide my services, such as when I use your information to fulfil your order, to settle disputes, or to provide customer support;

• If necessary to comply with a legal obligation or court order or in connection with a legal claim, such as retaining information about your purchases if required by tax law; and
• As necessary for the purpose of my legitimate interests, if those legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights or interests, such as ;
a) providing and improving my services. I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and
b) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
• Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
Service providers. I engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services to my shop, such as delivery companies. ( We may disclose your name and address details to New Zealand Post insofar as reasonably necessary for insurance and delivery purposes. For overseas deliveries by courier we may use an alternative GDPR compliant service provider. In that instance you will be notified of the details of that courier service)
• I will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
• Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
• Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to:
(a) respond to legal process or to government requests;
(b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies;
(c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or
(d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
• Financial transactions relating to our website and services are handled by our payment services providers, PayPal. We will share transaction data with our payment services providers only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing your payments, refunding such payments and dealing with complaints and queries relating to such payments and refunds. 4. Data Retention
We will retain your personal data as follows:
(a) Your name, address, email address and purchase details will be retained for a minimum period of five years following 31 January submission deadline of the relevant tax year, and for a maximum period of 6 years following 31 January submission deadline of the relevant tax year.
In some cases it is not possible for us to specify in advance the periods for which your personal data will be retained. In such cases, we will determine the period of retention based on the following criteria:
(a) the period of retention of your name, address, email address and purchase details will be determined based on further purchases made by yourself.
Notwithstanding the other provisions of this Section 4, we may retain your personal data where such retention is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or in order to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of another natural person.
5. Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU
I may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, I may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If I am deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, I rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
