Quality furoshiki gift-wrapping from Kyoto, here in the Cotswolds, UK!

Welcome to Zusetsu, your online store for beautiful, quality furoshiki and gifts from Kyoto, and further afield in Japan!

Contemporary furoshiki knot-wraps evolved from the textiles that carefully wrapped the treasures of the Imperial family, just outside Kyoto. Now you can create these wonderful styles, and be a part of an on-trend movement that is choosing sustainability and reusability over disposable paper and plastics.

To complement our growing range of furoshiki, we have more pretty gifts from the elegant city of Kyoto that are created using skills passed down through generations: beautiful brocade purses that use the weaving skills of Nishijin-ori, and deep-dyed washi paper gifts inspired by kimono patterns.

We have added to our collection of screen-printed textiles with a growing range of beautiful tenugui wall-hangings and furoshiki from Yokohama, which is just south of Tokyo. They are very popular!

We are so excited to launch our first Zusetsu-designed Snowflower Furoshiki which is traditionally screen-printed by hand in a small workshop in Kyoto. You can read everything about how we how we made Snowflower in our blog on our Zusetsu website at www.zusetsu.com. Do take a look!

We stock 4 sizes of furoshiki:
Extra Large: Perfect for making a shoulder bag or for wrapping a large gift.
Large: Perfect for making a bag or for wrapping a gift.
Medium: Perfect for making a beautiful gift-wrap for a present that is under A4 size, and a small handbag.
Small: Perfect for wrapping a small gift, like a boxed candle, or a small book.

Every furoshiki order receives a free illustrated leaflet which has 6 easy-to-follow diagrams to get you started furoshiki wrapping.

Take a look at our new, Zusetsu-designed Furoshiki Handbook - the perfect addition to your furoshiki, with plenty of furoshiki wrapping ideas to get you started!

We have amazing furoshiki wrapping ideas to inspire you on our Zusetsu website at www.zusetsu.com. Check out our Furoshiki Tutorials page where you'll find videos and diagrams to help you create gorgeous furoshiki gift-wrapping, bottle wraps, and bags!

Frequently asked questions
Can you tell me about product care?

Our furoshiki are made from 100% cotton.

We recommend that these products are gently hand-washed and reshaped while damp. Iron on a medium setting on the reverse side.

After wrapping with your furoshiki, you can remove any creases by placing a clean, damp white tea-towel on top of the reverse side of your furoshiki and gently steam-ironing it. Please take care while doing this!

The Aquadrop Water-repellent furoshiki will have its water-repellent coating revived by carefully applying an iron, on a medium temperature.

All natural materials are flammable - please keep away from fire.
