5 out of 5 starsI met Caroline at a craft show where she taught me how to use a peg loom to make a lovely small rug using wool salvage. When there she also showed us weaving sticks which I preferred. After a few hours of emails back and forth she pointed me here to this kit and its perfect! It contains everything I need to give the sticks a go before making my own rug. I can't praise Caroline enough for the amount of knowledge and patience she has and is willing to share with whoever asks. Thanks so much Caroline for introducing me to a relaxing craft :)

5 out of 5 starsA perfect beginner’s kit. The spindle is easy to use and the included instructions are detailed and pedagogical. Caroline included a lovely handwritten card. She later also offered to answer questions on Instagram. Thoroughly positive experience. Would buy again.

5 out of 5 starsOrdered during the Christmas holidays. Item was posted out at the first available working day. Kit is fabulous. Excellent communication. Would definitely recommend. The seller also included an extra ball of yarn as it was the festive season of good will. It was a lovely thought.

5 out of 5 starsThis is such a high quality loom and kit, my friend who has been weaving for years borrowed it the second week I had it! Perfect for me as a beginner, excellent quality and great customer service! This is exactly why I shop on Etsy! Highly recommend!!!!!

5 out of 5 starsWonderful box of various lovely yarns that had me oohing and aahing for ages!
I already have a loom, so Caroline did a special listing for the box of yarn and instructions on their own. She's great to communicate with, the whole transaction was pleasurable and personal from start to finish, exactly what makes Etsy so good. Thank you Caroline!
About bigskytextiles
Living a handmade life
I started spinning yarn about ten years ago, after being intrigued by a skein of handspun yarn I bought at a knitting exhibition. I signed up for a short course to learn how and it was love at first turn of the spinning wheel. Baskets of handspun yarn soon started taking over the house so, in addition to knitting with my yarn, I then learnt to weave with it. Then it became my way of life, filling my home and my life with handmade treasures, every one of which is unique and embodies my love and passion for all things woolly and handcrafted.
And so bigskytextiles was born, a way for me to share my love of all kinds of handspun yarns and the wonderful and practical things that can be created with them. Almost every item I make is a one-of-a-kind. Every item is made with love.
i use British wools and other fibres, like alpaca, as much as possible. I have a campervan and love to pick up fleece and fibre on my travels around the UK. Sometimes, I can even tell you which sheep has provided the fleece for your yarn!
I hope that you enjoy looking round my shop and will also feel intrigued to see how you might fall in love with handspun yarns and handwoven treasures.
