About

Tactile wonders

hello I am bex, welcome to my little shop.

I am an English artist blacksmith living and creating in Guildford, Uk. I was born into blacksmithing in 1983 and I first held a hammer when I was 3yrs old. I don't believe I was able to do much with it at that point but the intrigue to know more was there. The hunger for making and exploring the possibilities of the mind continued to art collage then fine art at university. Upon leaving university, I got the opportunity to go up north and work with a master blacksmith for some time. When home I continued my learning with my father in his forge along side other smiths of varying skills. Most of this time was spent working on large and magnificent jobs, learning the skills that would give me the foundation I would need to start up alone. In my spare time I would apply these skills on a much smaller scale, creating beautiful pieces that you could wear or use in the home. In 2007 Brambly Forge was born and I began to take on my own commissions, which ranged from fire guards to lights. This was all allot of fun but I still found I was compelled to make small treasures but had no outlet to show them to the world. Thus Blacksmith Bex on Etsy was born.

You'll find my shop is a collection of metal and mixed media works that can be worn, put to work or just looked at and treasured.
