About

A creative outlet for an exuberant maker of polymer clay jewellery

I have always been very creative and a bit of a craft-preneur. At 11 a friend and I opened our first "shop" from her pantry window, selling homemade sweets to passers-by!

At university I was known for making potions and lotions and it was quite normal to see me in Halls with a mug in my hand and on closer inspection to find it was full of ointment and not tea :)

In my twenties I co-owned and ran a handmade soap company. When my business-partner and I parted ways she went on to run her own soap company under another name and also to make beaded jewellery. I took a sabbatical from the crafty life and focused on my career as a science writer, but my creative urge was always there, bubbling away just under the surface.

So now I am here, at Blind Crow Creations, gloriously solo and loving the independence and the opportunity to create what I please, when it pleases me. I am currently into polymer clay and have been for a number of years, and after much pestering from friends and family I have started to sell my designs.

Like my corvid namesake I also love collecting shiny things and over the years I have amassed a huge collection of beads, so alongside my jewellery you will also see handmade stitch markers for knitters, made from some of the lovely, sometimes vintage or one of a kind beads in my stash as I create useful gadgets for fellow fibre fiends.

I love the flexibility and freedom Etsy brings and I am having a whale of a time meeting likeminded people and networking. You'll find me on Twitter during #elevenseshour on Tuesdays from 11am or when I'm able to, posting for your amusement on the Blind Crow page on Facebook and Instagram.

Hello and welcome to Blind Crow Creations. This is my little corner of the web where I make and sell jewellery and craft supplies made from polymer clay. My philosophy is to do unto others as you would have them do to you. Therefore I always try to be honest and I expect the same from others. I love handmade things and I am always up for a swap or trade, so if you see something in my shop that you like and you make your own handmade things send me a message and let's trade :)

MY ANGEL POLICY FOR SELLING GOODS MADE WITH MY HANDMADE CRAFT SUPPLIES:

You are free to sell goods that you have made using my handmade beads, cabochons, other craft components and jewellery findings. However, as a courtesy, please note in your listing where these items came from, and if selling online please include a link to my shop stating that I sell these items.

I would love to receive pictures of any items you make with my craft supplies and I may reciprocate by posting pictures and any links you supply to my blog (http://blindcrowcreations.blogspot.co.uk/) or on my other social media accounts.

Returns and exchanges
Regarding returns - we have all suffered from buyer's remorse at one time or another, therefore I accept no quibble returns for standard items within 14 days of your receipt of the goods. You will be liable for all standard postage costs, but you are not required to send via expedited mail or signed on delivery services. You are required to obtain proof of posting. It is a legal obligation under the new Directive on Consumer Rights that you return the items in a saleable condition.

Return postage costs will be similar to the original shipping cost for the item, since I keep my shipping prices very close to the actual cost to me to post your item to you.

If you wish to return an item within 14 days of dispatch, contact me and I will give you my return address and arrange your refund. You will receive a full refund for the cost of the goods within 14 days of my receipt of your request to cancel.

Please note that due to their nature I cannot accept returns of earrings for pierced ears unless faulty.

Please see "additional information" for my policies regarding refunds for custom orders.
Payment
Payment in full is required before I will dispatch your items. The quickest and easiest way to do this is via PayPal or Direct Checkout. If you wish to cancel an item before it is dispatched please contact me immediately to let me know. Items may be cancelled with no cost to you up to 24 hours after purchase unless marked as dispatched at the time you come to cancel. If you want to cancel an item that has already been dispatched, please refer to my refund policy.
Shipping
I will package your items securely and dispatch them promptly. I am happy to send them anywhere in the world, but it is your responsibility to observe the laws of your country. If you need me to fill in a customs declaration I will do so, but it must be factual. I will always obtain a certificate of posting.

I do not offer insurance as a standard, however if you would like to arrange for your item to be sent by insured post please send me a message. I will charge for insurance at cost.

I do not offer expedited shipping. The delivery times on my listings are based on how long it will actually take me to parcel up your order and post it. For stock items this is currently 3-5 working days (including Saturdays). For custom orders and made to order items the current delivery time is 1-2 weeks. The extra time is needed because I have to physically make your item (and often other items in my order queue as well) so please don't ask me to send custom items any sooner.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders - if you make a custom order this may be cancelled up to 48 hours after payment and I will refund in full with no questions asked. After 48 hours you will need to contact me and I will deal with your request on a case by case basis. I reserve the right to charge a restocking fee of £5, or the full order value, at my discretion based on how much work I have already done on your order.

Private listings - these listings are a verbal agreement for a custom order. Once you have purchased a private listing, it will be treated exactly like a custom order.

I reserve the right to refuse to create a private listing for customers who have previously abandoned or not purchased private listings I have created for them in good faith in the past.

I also reserve the right to refuse custom orders that I believe may infringe copyright, or that are based on items made by other artists and Etsy sellers. If you like their stuff enough to want to buy it - please show them and me respect by purchasing an original from them.
