From my bright and sunny home-based workshop in Brighton I produce jewellery in perspex and sterling silver.
I studied a degree in furniture design and have made jewellery in silver and resin for many years.
It is not easy to make furniture from a room at home so I turned my attention to jewellery and attended evening classes and workshops and learnt various skills over the years. I made jewellery in silver but wanted to add colour so I learnt how to use resin and had lots of fun mixing colours and creating one-off pieces. Due to the time involved in creating these pieces I now make them to commission.
I wanted to explore a way to produce colourful pieces at affordable prices and perspex is my solution! I have always loved perspex since using it for design projects at school and I have a particular love for fluorescent perspex. The way it glows when the light catches it has always fascinated me. I love geometric shapes and bright colours and perspex is the perfect material for me to produce my designs. I also love the endless possibilities perspex offers with shapes, colours and finishes. I even love the smell of it when I'm cutting and filing it- although it's not a smell everyone likes! I have the majority of my designs laser cut and I then combine the shapes and colours and make them into pendants, earrings, rings, brooches, cufflinks....whatever takes my fancy. As I said the combinations are pretty much endless so I can just keep on making!
I am constantly adding new designs and colour combinations so come and visit my shop often to see what's new.
