For the past 7 years (occasionally at first) me and my friends have brought free arts and crafts to the children in our area in our local market hall. After the pandemic lockdown was lifted, we secured a grant to provide monthly sessions for the children and included, sand art, face painting, story time and fruit snacks as well as our 'Freestyle' arts and general mayhem. This lasted for 1 year.
We are now struggling for funding due to cutbacks and cost of living and the children need us even more than ever. We will not give up and let the little ones down. Artistic expression and family fun is more important than ever. We have a teenager with Autism and one with ADHD volunteering with us and they do an incredible job with children who struggle in social situations. 'Uncle Ronnie' is adored by the children who sit quietly whilst he reads the story (so do the adults!!) he has suffered terrible ill health and depression and his role with us has given him strength and determination... so much so that he now also reads stories at the childrens book exchange!!!
I have decided that any profit from my shop with go straight to our project and we really appreciate your support.
