I'm currently working on a new collection of miniature seaside town/scene designs... houseocean
I've been having a play with low fire enamelling...lots to learn, but really enjoying experimenting with something a little different

Hi I'm Charlotte Smith and am owner and designer of buttontindesigns.

Early memories…inspired by my grandmothers old button tin, love for colour, texture and all things quirky and unusual, I found myself making individual 'one of a kind' pieces of jewellery for myself, family and friends using recycled tin, vintage buttons, fabrics and yarn.
I slowly progressed into using sterling silver, silver clay, copper and aluminium and sometimes dabble in a bit of woodworking.
I love to use driftwood in decorative pieces that have been collected by my myself, family and friends on our local picturesque beaches in Hampshire.

Some jewellery and decorative pieces are designed specifically and others organically constructed when inspiration comes!...(I have to admit, they are usually the most enjoyable ones to make!).

My work is handmade with love 💙 by using a mix of hand, power tools, metal stamps, files etc with thoughtful attention to detail, I also feel that each piece is 'Perfect in it's little imperfections'.

Sterling Silver.
I purchase all my sterling silver sheet and wire for my designs from reputable UK wholesalers.
Hallmarked Silver.
My items are not hallmarked as they weigh under 7.78g which is the threshold for hallmarking.
If it weighs more than this, then i will state on the individual listing details.

I recommend using a simple silver polishing cloth for both silver and copper.

(Copper is beautiful rose tone when polished but it may not always stay that way! It may darken in colour and can turn your skin a little green....! everyone's body chemistry is different. thankfully, the colour is not harmful to your skin, just give it a regular polish).

The finish on darkened/oxidised pieces, pearls and beads may be damaged if exposed to household chemicals, perfumes, hairsprays, nail varnish removers etc.

***Plastic sealed bags are not the most glamorous of jewellery box accessories but they sure do keep you silver and copper items from tarnishing so quickly, I really recommend storing them in these.

***Please read all measurements before purchasing.

Thanks for visiting buttontindesigns, If you have any questions, Please do not hesitate to contact me.
