Way back in 2008 my sister told me about an online store called Etsy. We are both very crafty and so I thought I'd give it look see. At that point I had no intention of selling anything. I enjoyed looking at all the wonderful items people were creating but couldn't think of what I could sell.

I was an on and off again crocheter since I taught myself at the age of 11 and I had recently been told about amigurumi style crochet, which is crocheting by going around and around instead of back and forth and I loved it. I looked up a free pattern online and made my first little snowman using that style of crochet.

In 2009 my sister, a friend and I decided to join a craft show at church, so I created about 6 different characters using my new form of crochet. I made about 8 of each. I also made some purses. I did very well at the show and decided to try to sell whatever I had left over on Etsy. It worked. But I realized it took so long to make each item, buy shipping boxes, drive to the post office, etc. It wasn't worth my time.

I had written down each step I took to create each pattern and then it dawned upon me. - Why not type up all my instructions nicely and sell the pattern only? Bam!!!!! It took off better than I ever expected. I now have 147 patterns and counting. My shop is doing very well and I am having so much fun.

PS: Had I know I would end up with a successful store, I would have chosen a cute name for my store when I first joined in 2008. Oh well. LOL
