Byji - Celebrating the art of gift giving

Our values are great design, beautiful materials and British made. Byji was established in 2014, and our studio is tucked away on the South Wales Coast. Our mission is to create beautiful work for people to treasure.

Hello, we’re Byji. A small, seasonal, design studio set up by Lloyd and Matthew. Specialising in making contemporary gifts; our values are great design, beautiful materials and British made.

Our work is inspired by nature, with many of our products being hand finished; whether it’s frosting our glass polar bears or adding gold to our penguins beaks. We take great care in what we do, and we hope you love our work as much as we do.

All our work is designed, made and hand finished right here in the UK.

CELEBRATING THE ART OF GIFT GIVING

Byji is a design studio based in the coastal city of Swansea, and we enjoy thinking up and creating contemporary products for the home, all of which are proudly made and hand finished in the UK! Byji is pronounced like Budgie and is Welsh for Budgie.

OUR VALUES - GREAT DESIGN, BEAUTIFUL MATERIALS, BRITISH MADE

We’re proud of our little corner in this big wide world; it never stops inspiring us. From our studio, we think up, doodle and design our creations. Our always aim to make work that is charming and delightful and never dull. We search far and wide over these Isles to find the highest quality materials to use. Our work is designed, made and hand finished right here in the UK. We hope you love our creations as much as we do.

2. ENVIRONMENT

2.1 PRODUCTS TO LAST

We make our work to last a life time and put a lot of effort in to sourcing the best quality materials. Most of our materials are natural, such as wood and slate. Glass is used and is a strong, durable material (which can also be recycled).

2.2 OUR PACKAGING

We use corn starch bag to wrap our decorations. These bags are 100% biodegradable and compostable. Feel free to dispose of them in your food compost waster. The backing card for our products is printed on 100% recycled and uncoated kraft card, and can be recycled again. For our postal packaging, we try to use recyclable materials as much as possible. Sometimes we need to use plastics – which isn’t ideal; we encourage you to reuse the packaging or keep it to store your decoration.

2.3 WIND POWERED WEBSITE

The electricity that powers our website really blows (…in a good way). Our website is run on 100% renewable energy that comes from wind.

2.4 RENEWABLE POWERED STUDIO

The electric that powers the Byji studio comes from a mixture of renewable sources such as tidal and wind.
