A deep love of textiles and a deep love of Cornwall
We moved our family from Sussex to live in beautiful Cornwall in 2010. Within weeks of moving I was invited to join a sewing group called “swig n’sew”. We all attempted hand sewn projects, growing in confidence with each one, and got to build good friendships, so great when in the haze of having young children at home. Also, when there is a glass of red involved.... it really does make for the perfect night.
My love of textiles was re-ignited after a very long frustrating pause after leaving my fashion textiles degree and having a family.
In 2015, when my youngest (we have four fab kiddos) started preschool, and with suddenly what felt like lots of time on my hands, I started playing with my machine more, exploring free machine embroidery.
We live in Truro, which is 5 minutes away from the beautiful scenery of the River Fal. I find this and the huge choice of beautiful beaches and quaint harbours so inspiring. I can’t help but want to replicate theses landscapes, but using the sewing machine as my pencil and layering the pictures with different textiles.
With a deep love of textiles and a deep love of Cornwall, in 2016 Cornishhomemade was born.

I get inspired by my surroundings, whether they be flowers, or simple fishing boats bobbing on the beautiful river Fal.

I endeavour to post items after payment between 3-5 business days, unless it is a custom order and I will communicate directly with the customer to give an estimated date of postage.
