4 out of 5 starsThe cleanser and body balm is gorgeous. love the slightly whipped and buttery texture, as well as cleansing beautifully it makes a great primer for mineral foundation. It's also fab on any dry patches and I use it as an overnight hand cream for when the weather is really cold. The Rice face scrub is also nice, but I find I need to mix it either with the cleanser or with some almond oil, otherwise the paste is too crumbly and most of it just falls through my fingers. It was definitely worth getting the duo to give it them both a go. Delivery was pretty quick and I even got a hand written note and a free lip scrub thrown in (the lip scrub is really lovely too and tastes yummy - definitely recommend!)

5 out of 5 starsReally love this product! <3 I wasn't sure which of the body butters would suit my skin type but the seller was quick to respond and really helpful in recommending the right one for me. This body butter arrived quickly and came in a really cute jar which is recyclable and good for the environment. As you only need to use a little, I think this pot will last me a while! The butter has a lovely velvety texture and glides on skin. I use mine at night and by the morning my skin feels refreshed and revitalised. The smell is also zingy and refreshing. This is a gorgeous moisturising cream and adds a bit of luxury to my skin care routine.

Handmade in Edinburgh - I make small batch Vegan & Zero Waste Skincare products - Face & Body Balms, Face Scrub, Lip Scrubs & Clay Masks. Refills too
It all started with me wanting to make a Christmas present for my bestie! I knew I'd have a use for that Chemistry A level one day....
But I kept finding recipes that weren't Vegan and as I'm Vegan I didn't want to do that... So I started tinkering with Vegan alternative ingredients and she loved it! And her friends loved it, and I wanted to do more....
And so Coven was born, first as Coven Scrubs & Balms which quickly became Coven Vegan Skincare which I like better.
I'm also Zero Waste as much as is humanly possible - glass jars, refill pouches, reclaimed packaging - and I use independent businesses whenever I can for supplies. Supporting other independents is as much in Coven's ethos as everything else.
My Skincare products are as much for fellow Vegans as they are for fellow Zero Wasters. Or for folks wanting luxurious and long lasting and high quality skincare that doesn't cost a ridiculous £50 per pot....
I don't use water in any of my formulas. By having no water, Coven's products are low in allergens - lots of people have allergies not to a product's main ingredients but the additives required to counter act the water....
So I created products which don't have water in them.... It didn't seem to be rocket science but it is fairly unusual out there I have discovered.

Are your products 100% vegan?
Yes, absolutely 100% vegan. I am vegan myself and welcome orders from everyone to show you how luxurious cruelty free skincare can be.
Can I only use water with the Rice & Aduki Bean Face Scrub?
Water works great but so does adding the face scrub powder to a cleanser.
How much body/face balm should I use?
It depends on how dry your skin is - BUT a little bit really does go a long way so start small & judge as you go!
Is the body and face balm really suitable for the face?
Yes. The balm is light enough for the face - remember a little bit goes a long way - but "strong" enough to tackle those inevitable dry patches we all have (mine = neglected shins!)
Are the clay cleanser & masks suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes, both are. The Kaolin clay is especially good for sensitive skin.
Who is the cat in your logo?
That is my cat, Theodore Elvis Norbert to give him his full name! He's a little bit tubby hence Elvis as a middle name. I also love Harry Potter so all my cats gets a HP name - my previous cats were Dobbie Elvis and Mrs Weasley xxx
