International orders have resumed! :) Please note that I have had to remove some destinations from my shipping lists as I currently cannot afford to comply with packaging or customs regulations pertaining to those specific destinations. Sadly, this currently includes all of the EU and some other European countries. Much as I would love to be able to ship to them, I regret that I am unable to at this time. Due to the ongoing postal delays in many countries, I have added a longer lead time of one to two weeks for post to be sent, as this allows for a much more realistic expectation of shipping times.
I recommend to all purchasers to refrain from wearing the jewellery for seven days after receiving it. It is safe to use alcohol wipes to cleanse the pewter, brass and steel pieces, but do not immerse them or wash them in water. I will be swapping from organza gift bags to plastic zip lock bags in my packaging to minimise risk.
For clarification; all of my jewellery is cast from lead-free pewter. The only other material used on the items, bar the findings (chains, clasps, etc) is copper, which gives some pieces their reddish colour. Copper is known to discolour skin, so a patch test is recommended before purchase. All my findings are lead-free, nickel-free and cadmium-free.
Pewter can change colour and is a soft metal; gentle polishing with a jeweller's cloth or mild metal polish is recommended. It is susceptible to damage if subjected to hard or prolonged/continuous wear. The copper coating of some pieces may also be abraded under hard/continuous wear or polishing, revealing the pewter core.
I sometimes run out of brand new packaging and recycle used materials. Please be assured that these have been thoroughly checked and are only used if undamaged and clean. I pack everything with the same care and consideration, whether using new or pre-used packaging.
PLEASE NOTE; I am not VAT registered. I do not charge VAT or sales taxes of any sort. If you are purchasing from another country (I am in the UK) you *may* have to pay VAT/sales taxes, import duties, and handling/customs charges. Please be aware of this when purchasing from my shop. The price displayed in each listing is the price of the item only, postage is added at checkout.

5 out of 5 starsNice item. Really good weight even though the item is small (it was the size I expected - but from previous comments some people expected it to be bigger!) The item was well packaged and arrived quickly.

5 out of 5 starsGorgeous little trilobites, I am absolutely in love with them! As I don't have my ears pierced I'm going to stick them onto some clip-ons so I can wear them. Can't wait! Thank you so much!

5 out of 5 starsMy item took a little longer to arrive due to the Royal Mail being busy but communication with Judy about this is great and she was reassuring when I was worried it had been lost in the post.
Item is beautiful and will make the perfect gift for my friend.
Thank you! -

5 out of 5 starsAbsolutely gorgeous!!! Shipped more quickly than estimated to the US too. I’ve switched the cord to a beaded chain because the piece really deserved to be showcased even more so. It certainly didn’t need it to be stunning though! I can’t wait to give this as a Christmas present! It’s the kind of piece that is sure to garner compliments everywhere she goes. Couldn’t be more happy with my purchase:) Thank you so much for this amazing and very well priced piece of wearable art!

About DarkFlights
-
I originally used Green Stuff to model with, but switched to Milliput Superfine White.
-
This is how a piece usually looks part way through the early stages of modelling; building up the main bulk first.
-
Miiliput can be carved and sanded after hardening, unlike Green Stuff. The griffin was originally going to be a ring.
-
Final shot of the griffin before sending away for casting. Findings are usually added after I receive them back.
-
A selection of my modelling materials, on my scarred and paint-splashed work bench.
Dark Flights - from Imagination to Realisation.
Day job after day job, redundancy after redundancy - I was getting very sick and tired of it all. I'd always loved pewter jewellery, but thought that my path lay in illustration. After a few failed attempts at entering the saturated commercial illustration market, I decided to enter the equally saturated jewellery market. After discovering that pewter wasn't as costly to produce as I thought, I was recommended a company in Birmingham that specialised in casting pewter in fine detail, and so began my journey into the world of alternative body wear.
I was very nervous when I dropped off the first batch of sculpts, but Griffin Moulds were incredibly reassuring and handled my pieces with such care, and so I went home and waited.
When the packages from them arrived, my partner and I were stunned at the sheer quality of the casts - every detail I'd meticulously worked into the pieces had been scrupulously reproduced exactly as it had been sculpted. I wasted no time in acquiring EU-compliant nickel-free findings and chains to finish the jewellery off and make it ready-to-wear.
Despite suffering from tremendous nerves, I began to approach local shops and galleries, and was delighted to find that some of them were happy to buy and display the jewellery.
A friend mentioned Etsy, and so here I am - still nervous, still sculpting, and still determined to keep creating beautiful things for people to wear!
