Announcement   Spontaneity is the watchword that informs my art practice. My artwork celebrates the energy of abstract expressionism.
'why not?' underlines my creative process. Forget the box! Its obsolete...it's all about whatever shape you want to throw on that dance floor! The process drives my practice!! For me, work well done is work I have thoroughly enjoyed making...work that has made me think, sweat, cry, scream and come back for more!!! Work that gets my back up; pushes me...gives me cause for doubt. Makes me push in order for 'why not?' to become possible. Boundaries? What boundaries?

    celebrating scribble!!

I've always loved scribbling and doodling!!! Always with bits of paper all over the place!! Whilst at university, I couldn't find the kind of books I wanted to play with so decided to make some!! Since I studied Book Art, it was pretty straightforward!!

I wanted books I could play with: books that could 'multitask'! Books with straps, pop up pages, quirky covers, hidden pages! Books that I could paint in as well as scribble!

I started with refillable and reversible journals cos I am so random when writing or doodling in a book; I never start from the first page. With refillable journals, I could easily move the pages about. Next, I wanted to be able to go camping with journals; so I made journals with straps! Then came the origami journal; cos I wanted a journal that could double as a paper sculpture!!

I am so random when making journals; there are necklace journals, wallet journals. carpet journals, canvas journals!! I have so much fun making, I have to sometimes stop myself!!! xx

When I am not making journals; I paint!! Oils are 'butter on a hot toastie' absolutely gorgeous to work in!! Acrylics are fun; but I tend to take my time cos I want to savour every brush stroke!! I love painting abstract art as well as portraits!
