Art prints, wall hangings, greetings cards, wrapping paper, stickers, enamel pins and more. Shop here for unique gifts for lovers of everything kawaii, super cute creatures and colour.

Hello, I’m Emily J. Taylor a freelance illustrator and character designer who has created a curious bunch of creatures called ejits. They are kawaii inspired tubby little characters who I illustrate and apply to products.

I live and work from my home studio in Bristol, UK, which just happens to be my favourite city in the world (not that I have been to many btw). My illustrated ejits collections are inspired by my love of Japanese kawaii style character illustration, a very silly British sense of humour and my enthusiasm for bright kitch colours, bold graphic design and a tiny pinch of everything mythological, supernatural and sometimes slightly gothic.

Please have a good look around my world, I really hope you enjoy my work. If you do you can keep in touch in the following ways:

Join my ejits mailing list here and receive some free digital wallpapers: ejits.co.uk/subscribe

I hope to see you there soon!

About

About ejits

I love character design and illustration. I made my first toy when I was studying for my degree in animation and after I graduated I made more for friends and family and the idea then started to turn into a small business illustrating and making cute characters.

I have been selling these weird little critters for almost 10 years and the brand and focus have been evolving and changing over those years. For a long time it was a hobby but more recently I've been taking it seriously. I have gone from purely making soft toys for friends and family to becoming an illustrator and character designer.

Ejits compliments what I do as an illustrator because I focus on character design and the characters can be used across media from art prints, greeting cards and toys to future story books and animations.

I'm inspired by so many talented illustrators and designers and so many styles. I love kawaii, creepy, cute, gothic, fantasy, woodland, Steampunk, Saturday morning cartoons and retro fabrics. All of this inspires me to create some very funny, tubby, cute, sometimes a little creepy, characters.
