Ellie, thank you so much. This little brooch is so beautiful - I really appreciate the love and care that went into making it. I bought it for a friend and know that it will be treasured. X

I love this beautiful hanging! I've been meaning to buy one of Ellie's brooches for a while but just couldn't let this get away. It's a real treasure. I keep looking at it and still can't believe how tiny the stitches are! Thank you Ellie :-)

About

Following my creative path of straights, curves and those that lead in an unexpected direction!

The joy of creating through many forms of art have always been a joy for me. Sewing, however, wasn't always such a pleasure! During my senior school days I'd become a nervous wreck trying to remember how to thread a sewing machine and my fear of sewing machines continued after a very old electric Singer decided to combust whilst endeavouring to make a pair of shorts out of rather old, and a little rotten, kitchen curtains! Hand sewing, although much slower than sewing by machine, is a much more pleasurable experience and one I have come to love very much.

My personal creative path of straights, curves and those that lead in an unexpected direction have helped me realise my delight of colour, pretty embellishments, gorgeous felts and fabrics. Every new item is designed, with choice of colour scheme, charm, and complementary embellishments thoughtfully prepared before being carefully sewn by hand to produce a high quality item. As each accessory, item of jewellery and picture is an original, you, the customer, will be purchasing a totally unique item to wear, to use, to display and to treasure.

I feel there is something very lovely about an item made by hand. May be it’s the notion that it is unique and carefully finished, perhaps a little uneven in places, and always the knowledge that no two items will be exactly the same.

** Please remember little bits and children sadly don't go together. Items available at Ellie's Treasures may contain small parts so please exercise caution when purchasing for giving to young ones. **

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I’ve purchased?

You should receive a confirmation email from Etsy and/or Paypal with your purchase details. Items are normally mailed the next day (Saturday and Sunday orders are usually mailed on the Monday) and orders placed during Bank Holidays are mailed the next working day. A confirmation email from Etsy will inform you that your order is on its way. UK items are mailed 1st class and overseas via Air Mail. Please remember to allow sufficient time for your goods to arrive - packages destined for Europe can take up to 10 days to arrive, those travelling further may take up to a month or more, especially at busy times.

If you'd like your item(s) sent with postal tracking for peace of mind, this option is available at checkout at extra cost.

How will my item be presented?

All items are neatly presented as described in each listing. If the item is being bought as a gift and you would like me to include a personal note I am more than happy to do this, just let me know.

To help the environment, when possible, I recycle padded bags for mailing goods. Should you wish to receive your item in a new padded bag, please let me know at time of purchase.

Colours and sizings

Please remember all items are individually handmade and I try to give a thorough description, clear photos and approximate sizing. Photos may give the opinion that items are larger than they actually are so I try to include a lifestyle shot to give an idea of scale. Please do check the approximate measurements before ordering.

Please also bear in mind that at times it can be extremely difficult to show the exact colours of an item through photographs as computer screens vary in how they display colours too.
