What great shop! Great customer care, friendly and very helpful. Always find unusual, interesting things for art and mixed media projects. Thank you for the extras, much appreciated.

Oh this fabric... soft and heavy and drapes like a dream - not to mention the print! Circa 40s 50s, enough to make the perfect dress...
Lace lace lace! A weekend of antiquing resulted in an armful of this gorgeous old craft. The handmade pieces are a joy to look upon with their impossible delicacy. I'll be updating the shop with lace this week, along with lovely old buttons and beads.

To collect, revive and inspire

One of the astounding things about artists is the boundless creativity that lurks within their minds. The ability to think outside the box and see potential in the most unusual items is a gift unique only to them. As someone who has been an assemblage artist working in shadow boxes, installation, paper collage and jewelry, I am lucky enough to possess this ability and over the years I've amassed a collection of objects and materials ripe with possibility.

I have a predilection for antique materials - the textures and subtle tones of age, the quality of the materials and the beautiful designs all contribute to the piece. I like weird stuff too, the sorts of things I've dug out of dusty junk drawers at farm sales and the cashier says 'now what do you want with that..?!' That's a thrill for me; I love the idea that I've rescued and made useful something that otherwise would be overlooked.

I offer supplies on their own and in 'inspiration kits', bulk lots of items pulled together with themes and colours in mind to serve as instant fodder for your muse.

Frequently asked questions

Returns are taken only for significantly not as described or damaged goods. Refunds are given if items are lost in the post- I do consider it my responsibility to get your items to you, even if I have to rely on the postal system to do it :)

I send items of a certain value with tracking to minimise this risk, but I've been selling online for 10 years and so far very few orders have gone astray.

When items are returned to me due to errors on your part such as wrong address, refusal of pick-up etc I will either ask for additional shipping fees to re-send it or refund your item minus the cost of shipping, whichever you prefer.

Items returned to me without previously arranging with me to do so are not protected by Etsy's policies.

Refunds on damaged items

Any items which arrive damaged will be refunded either in part or whole depending on the damage.

It is important you contact me through Etsy's conversation system with photographic proof of the damage (including the packaging if necessary) in order for the refund process to engage.

Payment agencies require you send the damaged goods back to me before I refund; this is often expensive for you, so in most cases the photos will do, again depending on the damage.

Condition of items listed

90% my inventory is real vintage; please expect tiny flaws as the objects have usually lived a full life. Beads may have tiny chips, paper has age, lace has rust marks etc. This is the imperfect beauty of vintage!

I will note everything I consider to be a flaw in the listing description, please do read it fully and study the images - you can tap the image on a device (or click on 'zoom' if you're using a computer) to get a close up of things. if you're on a computer you can also right-click and select 'view image' for an even bigger size.

hygiene and allergen info

My home is smoke free, though I do burn incense.

Textiles may have a faint 'storage scent' but they are all clean; some are stored with dried lavender.

I have a short-hair cat and I do my best to keep him and his hair out of our business, but if you are severely allergic please use caution.

Some of my packaging is recycled; this is always clean and never derived from food or chemical packages; just tissue paper, bubble wrap, cardboard and Kraft/newspaper.

If you have any other concerns please do ask! I'm a friendly person and I will always help if I can. :)
