Hello and welcome to Fairly Amy. I have a whole range of my creations here, so I hope you can find something you like!

The main reasons behind the name Fairly Amy are:
1. Most of the cotton I use for my creations is organic and fairly traded, any other new fabrics come from leftovers from other craft projects (prop making/my own clothes) and everything else is recycled!
2. All of my creations are happy and vibrant, bright and a bit quirky, which is fairly me, hence the name!!

Anything which is made from new materials can usually be made again and can be made in other sizes, anything that has been made from recycled materials is a one off and so totally unique! You will be only person with anything like it!

Happy Shopping!

About

It started with a tin of buttons

I grew up with my Mum and 2 grandmas always busy sewing, knitting (and baking). What was the point of buying something if you could just make it yourself? Never throw anything away as there is always some way to mend it, or use the fabric for something else. These were the attitudes I grew up with, and it couldn't help but catch on - from as soon as I could hold a needle, I was happily stitching away being just like my Mum and Grandmas.

After studying Fashion & Textiles at uni, and some amazing adventures travelling around the world, I became even more focused on recycling, and reusing, in order not to ruin our beautiful world any further with more waste! Most of my materials I use for my creations come from charity shops, and any new fabrics bought are fairly traded or organic as much as possible.

And then buttons. I inherited my Granny's beautifully battered button tin a long time ago, and have since developed a love for collecting buttons. I buy them in far too large a quantity from charity shops and use them to decorate everything, from eyes on an owl to actual functioning fasteners on a skirt.

All of my creations, are bright, fun and exciting and I do hope they make you smile.

Fairly Amy has a selection of creations made from natural and recycled materials. Amy loves to use wool and cotton and so most items are made out of these. She buys wool and duvet covers from charity shops to cut up and use to make new, more beautiful items.

Postage costs will not be refunded, unless the item is faulty. In this case photo of the damage will be required.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements.
Payment
I accept card payments, Etsy gift cards, and paypal only from verified paypal account holders.

I will post all items within 3 days, unless of course I have not received payment by this time, or it is a custom make.
Shipping
All of my items are precious to me as I have put so much work into them, so I would hate for anything to get lost in the post. However, I know that recorded delivery is more expensive and so most people just prefer to pay standard postage.

All of the prices listed for each item are Royal Mail First Class delivery options (1-3 working days), or International Standard for Europe (3-5 working days) or Rest of the World (5-7 working days). Unfortunately this is not trackable and I cannot be held accountable for any delays.

Please contact me if you would like me to post an item Recorded Delivery and I will let you know how much this will cost for the item selected.

I always retain proof of postage so in the unlikely event that an item does not arrive please do let me know and I will take up the matter with the post office. However, please note that an item is not classed as 'lost' until 21 days have elapsed.

Items will be shipped to your Etsy address, please contact me if you would like your item shipped elsewhere. Please ensure that you give me to correct address (I know this sounds like common sense but it has happened before)! I can't be held accountable if your parcel does not arrive because you gave me the wrong/incorrect address!

International buyers are responsible for the payment of any custom charges that may occur.
Additional policies and FAQs
I love to receive custom orders and make far more than is listed on here. If you would like to discuss a custom item or idea you have for a commission, please do contact me, either on here or at fairlyamy [!at] yahoo.co.uk.

Fairly Amy Privacy Policy:

Fairly Amy, run solely by Amy Manning is based in London, England and has been selling items worldwide on Etsy since 2008. I also sell regularly at craft markets and fairs.

This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. You can reference the Etsy Privacy Policy to learn more about its privacy practices.

1. Personal information I collect:

To fulfil your order, you must provide me with certain information (which you authorised Etsy to provide to me), such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product that you’re ordering. You may also choose to provide me with additional personal information (for a custom order of a mobile, for example), if you contact me directly.

I use this information solely for processing your order. All your information is stored by Etsy and I have no other record of any of your information. I do not and would not ever share any of your information - even with my pet robot hoover.

The ONLY exception to this is should an order go missing, or be damaged en route to you, I have to provide your name and address, plus the value of the order, to Royal Mail, in order to claim compensation for the missing/damaged item. They in turn will only use this information in order to confirm that the item has indeed be lost, and will not share this information with any other parties.

Thankfully, items are rarely lost in the post, so this is unlikely to happen. You can view a copy of their privacy policy here: https://www.royalmail.com/privacy-notice

I record the monetary value of your order only, for tax return purposes, and would retrieve any relevant invoices from Etsy, should these be asked for by HMRC.

Data Retention

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in my Privacy Policy.

Your Rights

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.

Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

How to Contact Me

For purposes of EU data protection law, I, Amy Manning, am the data controller of your personal information. If you have any questions or concerns, you may contact me at fairlyamy [!at] yahoo.co.uk.
