Fused glass creations by Glassy Haven

My amazing mum is very creative and she always encouraged my sister and I to build and make a variety of things. Over the years I have tried all sorts of crafts from pyrography to knitting. It was when my brilliant sister made some stained glass pieces that I became curious about working with glass, she was actually the person that for Christmas one year gave me what I needed to make my own stained glass pieces, however it was when I started to fuse the glass that I became hooked. I love the designs and patterns that emerge.

Currently I make one of a kind fused glass pendants / necklaces and fused glass rings but will also start to create bracelets and earrings shortly. All pieces are made from Bullseye glass. For each piece I need to hand cut the glass to a specific size (on numerous occasion I have sliced my fingers too), The pieces are then arranged or layered to create colourful patterns, this is fired at approximately 1400 °C to 1600 °C. I then have to impatiently wait up to an hour for the kiln to cool down before I can open it to see what the items look like. At this stage I either cry or do a happy dance :-)

I live in the Cotswold which is such a beautiful part of the UK, my work space it in our attic so I have great views of the countryside out of the window.
