To introduce us and what we do;

Hello! My name is Kia and this Business is called Gold on Glass. We are a small family business with a team of 3.

We create contemporary art pieces and mirrors using gold leaf and other metals, using different techniques.
Through lock down I became unemployed. At the time I didn’t have a strong direction but being creative is something I love, and I found that by creating mirrors and artworks it became a meditative process and allowed me to explore my creativity.
I now have a passion for working with Gold Leaf and other metals, and I am continually pushing forward to introduce new ideas and methods.

The inspiration for this new adventure to embrace my traits that make me different, to express my positivity through art and to explore important world issues. I always thought that my brain working differently was a bad thing.. absolutely not!! Embracing the weird and wonderful with positivity is the way forward.

The majority of my work is produced using the ancient techniques of Verre Eglomise, which means reverse glass gilding. Each piece is lovingly produced entirely by hand and no two pieces are the same.
The process can be quite complex and takes time and patience but the up side of that is that you will end up with an artwork that is entirely unique and bespoke.
