Welcome to iana for exclusive and affordable handmade jewellery from our workshop near Canterbury in Kent

Welcome to my shop here on Etsy! iana jewellery.

I am delighted to be able to offer you a wide range of designs in jewellery, the scope of which includes rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, bangles and earrings. There are attractive and comfortable designs for every day wear as well as elegant and stylish pieces for those special events and evenings out. All of which make an excellent present on a special occasion. Each piece is made with time, patience and care to create characterful, and distinctive examples of jewellery that are unique and exclusive. The jewellery is handmade in my Kent, rural Canterbury workshop. I work in silver and gold and use high quality precious and semi-precious gemstones, so you can feel be assured of the quality of each piece of jewellery purchased. I know how important it is for each piece to be treasured, special and admired.

I hope you will see there is something for everyone. Along with the desire for jewellery to be worn and cherished, I also value your custom very much and so appreciate your visit to the shop and hope you will return often.

Some background: This venture into jewellery design developed in magnitude as I discovered the delight of combining it with a former career in photo-graphics and visual communication. I found how enjoyable it is to immerse myself in the world of jewellery making. My wife, Anna began first, making jewellery with semi-precious beads and Ian followed and I was inspired by their beautiful composition. With the allure of precious metals and stones adding amazing possibilities, the desire to learn the craft of the goldsmith's profession was jointly shared and seemed inevitable. Anna now focusses more on her art, while I continue to make the jewellery pieces you see here.

I likes the tangible nature of jewellery as a three dimensional form of my earlier work as a commercial and creative photographer, specialising in visual communication and photo-graphics. I like the potential of design in jewellery to act as metaphor by possessing significant meaning for its owner and wearer. Those designs have now largely been simplified to provide customers with a gift suitable gift option for a friend, partner or loved one. Occasionally I will make items I describe as a portfolio piece.

I work from home in my workshop which is situated in the Kent countryside, between the famous City of Canterbury and the delightful medieval town of Sandwich, United Kingdom.

Frequently asked questions

Posting for Christmas

We like to complete orders quickly throughout the year. To help avoid disappointment at Christmas time, please make any gift purchases with us before 12th December for overseas customers and by 17th December for UK customers to a UK address as we are unable to guarantee delivery by Royal Mail in time for Christmas.

Shipping To Germany

We are no longer shipping to Germany. Shipping to Germany requires registration with LUCID Packaging as of July 2022 to comply with German packaging Law 'VerpackG'. We wholly support this environmental approach and endeavour. For us as a small business based in the UK, our approach and response in turn is to smarten our administrative practice and encourage buyers in Germany to source products packaged from a 'Dual System Partner' which is operated in Germany. Indeed recycling materials and environmental issues are extremely important to us and we will endeavour to investigate and pursue good practice in these matters, making suitable adjustments where we can as we progress.
