Workshop Practices / Principles
My workshop is divided into three areas: the first for working/creating with wet clay, drying and refining. The second is the 'hot' area where my kiln, tins and carbon for firing are. The third is my jewellery bench - this is where I make the findings (ear wires, clasps etc.), set any stones and finish the work.
All my silver work goes to the Birmingham Assay Office for hallmarking.
Every piece is posted in an eco-friendly presentation box, displaying the Made in Cornwall label and posted securely using tracked mail.
NB: To gain accreditation under the Made in Cornwall trademark, I was visited in my workshop by a member of the Council's trading standards team where my work processes were inspected to assure compliance with the ethos of hand crafted, original work created entirely in Cornwall (an accreditation which I am proud to have associated with my jewellery).
