5 out of 5 starsBeautifully illustrated pattern book. I found it difficult but I think that’s more to do with my knitting skills than anything else!

About katiegreen
Illustration and Other Adventures
As a kid I always wanted to write and illustrate books, but this ambition fell by the wayside as I grew up and tried to follow a 'sensible' career path. I studied Biology and graduated in 2005 but I was miserable, and that same year I decided to enrol at art college. It was the best decision I ever made.
I started self-publishing in 2008 with a recipe book, Bake Me A (Vegan) Cake. It was wonderful to create an entire book from scratch, from the first sketches (and poorly baked cakes!) to the paintings to holding the finished article in my hands. I was hooked, and have been making books and zines - both self-published and not - ever since.
The Green Bean, my ongoing zine has been running regularly (ish) since 2010. I'd always wanted to create my own magazine and there seemed no reason not to try. Since then the Green Bean's readership has steadily grown, and there are subscribers all over the world.
2013 saw the publication of my long-laboured-over graphic memoir about eating disorders, abuse and recovery, Lighter Than My Shadow.
Since 2017 I've been making video podcasts about my creative process which are available on YouTube and Patreon. They cover all my interests, from drawing and paitning to knitting and sewing, as well as adventures on Dartmoor with my dog, Jack.
