Kat's Krafts!

I've always drawn and painted and love making things with my hands. I used to just sell cards and glass painting bits at the odd stall and to my friends, then in 2002 I was asked to run a face painting stall for a local charity as their usual painter had a bad back. I thought it would be a good idea to buy a set of paints for myself, and so it began... I bought books, DVDs, went to classes and get togethers, joined the Face Association... after 5 years of painting I was offered voluntary redundancy from my regular job, so I took the money and decided to run my own business. Hey, if I didn't make it I could always go back to office work! Then I started painting on a guy's head. His name was Phil. We had loads of fun painting and sticking on different stuff. Then a friend made a video. It went viral. We got featured by Perez Hilton, Bizarre Magazine, The Sun Newspaper, Sky1, ITV, we had a gallery show sponsored by Gillette, and Phil has just been featured in a documentary made by Stoli Vodka on Originals.

In 2012 my new year's resolution was to do something a bit more constructive with my spare time instead of just sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring and watching DVDs... So I decided to start doing my crafts again, as they had been languishing in boxes untouched for ages! I also wanted to try something new, so I decided on doing jewellery and making most of the pieces from polymer clay as that is a brilliant material to work with. It is a good learning curve, you can start off making really simple things like the liquorice allsorts, then move up to more and more complicated stuff as you master each technique. I hope that my buyers like my products as much as I've enjoyed making them!

Thank you for visiting Kat's Krafts! I have been making handmade cards and decorative items for many years, I find it fun and relaxing and I enjoy learning new skills and techniques to improve my crafting. Everything in my shop is made individually by hand, no mass production or moulds or teams - just me!

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalised orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Returns and exchange details
Earrings cannot be returned due to hygiene considerations. If you are unsure whether you want to buy them please ask questions before buying - I will do my best to ensure all questions are answered within 24 hours.

If you are unsatisfied with the the item it may be returned within two weeks of delivery for a full refund. Item must be returned in its original condition. Buyer must pay return postage.

In the rare instance where the item is damaged or lost in the post, a replacement or refund will be issued depending on the circumstances of that particular transaction. For damaged items, please return it to me within 14 days for refund or replacement. For lost items (Royal Mail lost time is 6 weeks from date of postage) please let me know after 6 weeks and I will issue a refund and make a claim with Royal Mail.
Payment is by PayPal or Direct Checkout. Items will be sent out the next working day after receipt of payment. No item will be sent out before payment is received.
All items are sent using Royal Mail, prices are from the Royal Mail website, a small amount is added to cover packing and Etsy fee.

Items sent within the UK will be by first class delivery, costing £2.00 (small packet size). You can upgrade to "Signed For" for £1 extra. For guaranteed next day delivery by 1pm it is £5.55 extra. **Please note that 1pm delivery may not be guaranteed at the present time due to COVID-19 disruption - please see Royal Mail website for changes**

Items sent to the USA will be sent as standard airmail, £4.30, to Australia £4.50, to the EU £3.50. Items sent to other countries will be sent as standard airmail costing £4.30. International Signed For is £5.55 in addition to above fee.

Items ordered from overseas during the Christmas period (Mid-November onwards) can take 4-6 weeks to reach their destination, please order early to avoid distress!

There is no extra charge for postage when more than one item is bought at they can be put in the same packet.
Additional policies and FAQs

Q: Do you do custom orders?
A: Unfortunately I can no longer make one-off items - the time needed to research, plan, experiment and make the final item takes too much space in my schedule and is not cost effective. I am happy to take suggestions for new items ONLY IF they fit with my current product line, if I feel that they are a good idea I will devote a week to making an entire batch and add them to the shop.

Suggestions should be along the lines of: favourite foods which would be easily recognised at 1/12th scale, pop art words, accessories for children's entertainers.

Q: Can you change your item for me?
A: Finished items cannot be changed.

Q: Can you remove the brooch back?
A: The brooch backs are baked into the clay and are an integral component. They cannot be removed without destroying the item.

Q: Can I give your items to a child?
A: The items are not intended for small children. They are not toys. All items have small parts that could present a choking hazard. Do not give any of my items to children (or adults) who could confuse them with real food!

Q: Your item that I want is out of stock! When will it come back?
A: I do try to re-stock items as quickly as possible, but some are more complicated than others and take a while to make again. Q: Do you do Wholesale or bulk orders?
A: I do not do wholesale orders, each of my items is completely hand made by me, it takes me the same amount of time and expense whether I sell 50 items to one person or 1 item each to 50 people so there is no advantage to me to do discounts for large orders. If you do want more of an item than is currently stocked please let me know and I will give you a time frame for completion.

Q: Can you send me a free sample for review on my blog or donation for charity?
A: Unfortunately I am not in a position to be able to provide free samples or donations.

Q: Will you consider a swap?
A: Yes, if you want to swap for money.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.

Data Retention

I generally keep your data for the following time period: 4 years.

Transfers of Personal Information Outside the EU

I do not currently have any cause to do this at any time.

Your Rights

Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.

Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
Complain. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
