I mix all my own colours from a basic range of paint colours. Sometimes I use two palettes to fit them all on!
Creating a Life with Colour
Welcome to my art store, I’m so glad you came along! I hope I can help make your home colourful!
I’ve been painting for over 20 years, originally animal and people portraits, but lately this has evolved into painting florals and abstracts. I’m finding that the colours I use in florals are very exciting and it’s so much fun to explore colour relationships in a loose and free way, without getting caught up in fine details. Particularly, I’ve found a love for my palette knife, which enables me to make much freer marks with thick, juicy paint.
My paintings are not only colourful, but wonderfully textured and, although they are created to look great from a distance across a room, they also look fascinating up close with lots of interesting blobs and marks and layers of colour. I’ll even use the back end of a fine brush to create line and form, and occasionally add a little bling with the addition of gold and silver leaf.
