Poetic Treasures. A Quest for Beauty
Welcome to my world of poetic treasures: Misty Albion. I am drawn to historic, sacred and romantic treasures that are imbued with beauty and meaning. My shop is a place...a world ...a part of who I am.
In the wild roaming grounds of Emily Bronte, in the Gothic cathedrals, abandoned churches and old houses of romantic England, Ireland and France, I love to search out poetic objects of beauty that are a part of me, my heritage and the ancient history of the land. I find beauty and wonder in the old and the ancient, the lost and found; in objects that speak of past lives and the hands that have shaped them. To me, such finds are bestowed with a beauty and poetry of their former lives, that makes each one unique.
I offer the best I can find ~ genuine antique finds and keepsakes unearthed from the ancient landscapes, churches and trinket boxes of historic England ('Albion'), from my travels to both east and west - to France and Ireland, and occasionally far beyond. All of the objects that I acquire have a timeless beauty and poignancy that I connect with. I place great value on the authentic, the unique, the timeless and the beautiful. All of the treasures are chosen from the heart in that they resonate within me....having a numinous quality; something beyond words; objects redolent of Fairy Tales, Dreams and Our Journey Through Life.
Symbolism is something I deeply connect with - I'm deeply drawn to treasures that represent the passage of life and whose symbolism resonates down through Time; to objects that represent the grand themes of life - BIRTH, LOVE, UNION, MARRIAGE and REMEMBRANCE. Objects that map the journey from birth to death and celebrate the significant moments of our lives are to be found in my shop. Symbolic treasures imbued these themes enhance our lives by continuing to give meaning in our own time and in times to come, and, as markers of the passage of our lives, they act as loving keepsakes, mementos and timeless reminders of significant moments in our life.

I have a passion for antique stained glass fragments. All of the stained glass is my shop is genuine antique Victorian Gothic Revival, or older. Authentic and numinous pieces of antique stained glass are hard to come by. The antique stained glass fragments in my shop were made by hands of the our Victorian master stained glass artisans here in Britain (the best in the word at that time). Passed down through time, having once been part of a sacred church window - in England, Wales, Scotland or Ireland; I cherish them for the beauty, history and timeworn presence which they possess. My passion for medieval and Victorian stained glass inspired me to become a stained glass artisan - my own gothic-inspired stained glass creations can be found in my new shop - Oh la Lune -
The antique and vintage bridal crowns in my shop are frequently featured by stylists and photographers for editorials and photo-shoots in the UK and the USA (see links below).
The world of Misty Albion is a place where objects that have survived, beyond the lifetime of their makers, continue to live on in all their beauty and uniqueness. It's a place to touch the past but most of all, in possessing the unique quality of being humble, my finds allow you to write your own story and to create your own special memories around them; making them special gifts; LOVE TOKENS and KEEPSAKES to be treasured or to pass on to loved ones as MEMENTOS and markers of their own life and lives to come.

VINTAGE ITEMS CONDITION
I sell antique and vintage 'treasures': objects, artefacts, textiles and ephemera - unique items that have history, and may show signs of this - it is part of their charm. I try to describe any obvious faults as truthfully as I can. However, as most of my items are 100 years old, they will often bear the traces of a previous life. Please think carefully about bidding if you are looking for a pristine item that is as new. My passion is for beautiful antique and vintage items that have a provenance, a presence, a gently faded grandeur, so do consider this before deciding to bid.
I place great emphasis on providing honest, detailed and accurate descriptions and pride myself on my customer service; as reflected in the feedback left by my customers.

The first payment of the Payment Plan acts as the deposit: the deposit is non-refundable- .
