Frequently asked questions
Wholesale availability
I dye in small batches, with each colour taking at least a day, sometimes even a week to perfect. Whilst I cannot produce huge wholesale quantities, I can, however create large quantities of desired colours and offer discounts on bulk orders over £150. Please message me for further info.
Care instructions
My ribbons are colourfast and the dyes are permanent, but it is best to keep them out of direct sunlight for long periods of time as this may cause them to fade.
If you must wash them, use a gentle soap (preferably pH neutral) and cool water. Do not have them dry cleaned as the chemicals used can affect the colour of the ribbon. The chemicals in flower food can also alter the colour of plant dyed ribbons if they come into contact with it when tying bouquets.
When your ribbon arrives, it will need unfurling and can be ironed on a medium high heat, or you can use a hair straightener. You can also spray it lightly with water and scrunch it before leaving it to dry naturally if you want a more ruffled look.
Colour variations
Because I dye in small batches, often using fresh or dried ingredients grown by my own hand, there may be slight variations between batches. Weather conditions, the stage at which the material is picked and even the type of soil can affect the colour produced. I try my best to match each batch, but if you want multiple ribbons of the exact same shade it's best to purchase them at the same time.
Some colours are limited edition due to complex and experimental dyeing processes, and will be listing as such.
I try my best to photograph the ribbons to a true a colour as possible, but they may appear slightly differently from screen to screen and their colours will alter depending on lighting conditions.
Marbling
Some ingredients are more prone than others to leave slight marbling or marks on the fabric during the dyeing process. I aim to keep this to a minimum, but it is part of the magical process of dyeing with nature and makes each ribbon unique. Where colours are likely to be more marbled or marked, I will say so in the listing.
