From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I was excited to make special things for the baby girl I was going to have. I took a weekly quilting class and learned so many new sewing techniques and my head was crammed full of projects and ideas.

After my daughter was born, I enrolled on a City and Guilds course in patchwork and quilting and learning all I could about stitching, colour, textiles and so much more. It gave me an afternoon a week of "me time" but also from the moment I stepped foot in the classroom, I wanted to have my own sewing shop.

It took several years to build up the confidence to do it, but now I finally have. I opened my Etsy shop and have spent hours pouring over designs and ideas to create kits to inspire you to try out this amazing craft and hopefully you will become hooked too and continue with your new hobby.

Why kits? Well, kits take the hard work out of getting started. I choose and put together everything you need in each kit so you can open the box, read through the instructions and just dive in. No need to go in and out of shops searching for the perfect fabric, or searching online for the needles you need or the right colour thread to match the felt. It is all in front of you, contained in the box which has come through your letterbox. Each set of instructions are written with a total beginner in mind, with simple and straight forward (no jargon) steps, with the aim to teach you a new skill in a really enjoyable way.

Sewing is good for your mind and body. It allows an escape from daily life and allows you to concentrate and focus on something which you will enjoy. Us adults sometimes get a bit caught up in the daily grind and we need to remember to take some time to immerse ourselves in something which is just for us.
