About

About The Sunken City

The story begins in 2003. The year when I started participating in the historical reenactment. I was always fascinated with the dark ages, and when I heard from one of my friends about a living history group in my city, reenacting Slavs and Vikings I immediately decided to join. Not long after, I discovered that many of my fellow reenactors engaged in many forms of craftsmanship: tailoring, leatherworking, woodworking, ironsmithing, bonecarving and many more. Usually as a hobby, but sometimes as a full time job. I too decided to test my abilities with materials like wood, metal or fabric. After a few years of experimenting I started concentrating my efforts particularly towards perfecting my skill in making jewelry. Aside from self educating I worked as an apprentice in a goldsmith workshop for two years, attended a one year silversmithing school and completed a blacksmithing course. When I decided my abilities were sufficient I opened my first Etsy store: Sulik’s Workshop, in 2011, where I sell replicas of medieval artifacts. But since apart from being a history lover I’m also a fantasy and sci-fi geek, one year later I opened a second Etsy shop: The Sunken City, to sell jewelry inspired by these themes.
Despite many years of practice I am still perfecting my talent, constantly making new items and developing my business.
The road to success is always under construction…
