About

Distinctive colors with Unique Designs

I am married and a mother of two grown daughters and now a grandmother of a charming little boy and now a precious little granddaughter. Over the years I have taken up a wide variety of crafts: cake decorating, ceramics, needlepoint, crewel, embroidery, knitted socks and sweaters, watercolor and many others. No matter what the medium, color has always been the inspiration.

In April of 2012, I took an interest in Kumihimo better translated as the gathering of threads, beading and braiding at the same time. In today’s world the modern Kumihimo is a firm flexible foam plastic disk with 32 notches that help create tension. Since this is a labor intense process, it takes time just to string the beads onto the strands and then each strand is placed on the special disk where the actual braiding and beading take place. The beads are woven into the braid one at a time. These necklaces and bracelets are made with Size 6/0 Seed Beads and/or 4x3 Crystals. These are no longer made or sold.

Another love of mine is knitting. I have knitted most of my life more so now since I am retired. I have made 100’s of wool socks, they are mostly loved for hiking, skiing or just keeping cold feet warm. These socks are 100% wool so they must be hand washed to keep their shape. Wool Felted Hot Pads/Trivets are very colorful and extra thick and make perfect gifts for that hard to buy person. Don’t forget to check out the other sections of knitting, like the Wool Felted Clutch Handbags.

In March of 2013, I had taken a class on Wire Crochet. What a fun time I had crocheting and beading at the same time. My biggest enjoyment is shopping for the beads for the necklaces. Each necklace is a one-of-a-kind and there are no repeats to be found. I really don’t think you can make one exactly the same as they all have a wide variety of beads. My necklaces just don’t stop at three or four strands; there are a larger variety of beads in each one. I focus on picking out one bead and then build off of that. I especially love working with Jasper, Agate, Sea Glass, Freshwater Pearls, Fluorite, Corals and Turquoise. They all are awesome beads to work with and in my necklaces you may even find seed beads and/or crystals. I use 28-gauge wire; especially enjoy working with all the wires from Silver, Gold, Bronze, Copper and even Black.

In my shop you will find a variety of necklaces and even ones that are made with just seed beads. I have made quite a few of these style necklaces (over 50) and everyone of them is one of a kind. Some are multi-colored and some have been a variation of one color and each hold their own style of compliments.

All of my items are 100% Handcrafted by Me in the USA. I hope you enjoy your visit; I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Additional policies and FAQs
To determine your actual wrist size, take a cloth tape measure, around the wrist and add 1" for clasp. So if you measure 6" around add 1" which would be a size 7. Some bracelets that are 6 1/2 to a 7 will work for a size 7. Now the 7 to 7 1/2 size would fit however it will fall slightly forward on the wrist. If you are in need a bracelet smaller or larger, please convo me and I would be pleased to work with you.
