Vintage Jewel Box...A lifetime love of antique & vintage jewellery.

My love of jewellery comes from when I was a child growing up...
Both my grandmother's would let me dress up in their high heeled shoes and raid their jewel boxes to festoon myself with rings, beads and big sparkly brooches.....
I started over 25 years ago selling Victorian and early 20th century costume jewellery and quickly added fine jewellery to the mix. I have stood all the major Antique Fairs in the UK including the prestigious 'Antiques For Everyone' at the Nec in Birmingham.
My main focus now is traveling around the UK to source unique pieces to sell online. I only buy items in really good wearable condition and often they are pieces I would like to keep myself!

Welcome to the Vintage Jewel Box...
I specialise in Antique and Vintage engagement rings and jewellery from all eras, but especially the Art Deco period 1920's ~ 1930's which is my personal favourite!
All the items are Antique, Vintage or Estate so please bear in mind they have been used or worn and may show some wear commensurate with age.
I only buy pieces in good condition that I would be happy to own and always point out any obvious faults. Please ask questions before you buy if you are unsure about anything.
I am based in the UK and happily ship to most destinations worldwide.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Returns and exchange details
We are happy to do a refund for any reason if you decide the item isn't right for you.
Contact us via email within 7 days of receiving the item so we can give you the returns address. The following conditions apply.

1 : All Rings and other items must be returned with the inventory tag attached and in their original condition We cannot accept a return if the tag is missing.
2 : Items must be returned in the presentation box and carefully packed.
3 : Items which have been re-sized by our jeweller/your jeweller cannot be returned as they are considered to be a custom order.
4 : Returned layaway items are subject to a 10% administration fee.

N.B. It is recommended that you return the parcel by a tracked service and send us the tracking number. 
Shipping from the Vintage Jewel Box and return shipping to Vintage Jewel Box is not refundable.
We ask that you pay for your item at the time of purchase.
If you would like to purchase an item but have to wait for funds to clear contact us. We will be happy to put the item on reserve for 24 hours or arrange a layaway/payment plan.

If you encounter any problems or delays fulfilling a layway payment, please let us know.
Our items are stored securely offsite so we aim to ship within 1-2 business days of recieving the order. All items are beautifully gift boxed and well packaged.

Orders over £100 are sent Royal Mail or Fed Ex carrier. *Some destinations have a charge.

Royal Mail Special delivery next business day delivery.
Royal Mail Estimated delivery times are :
Europe : 6 - 15 business days.
United States : 10 - 21 business days.
Canada, Australia, New Zealand : 14 - 30 business days
Japan : 7 - 14 business days.

Fed Ex estimated delivery times are :
Europe : 2 - 4 business days.
United States : 2 - 5 business days.
Canada, Australia, New Zealand : 4 - 8 business days.
Japan : 3 -6 business days.

Fed Ex priority service is included at no extra charge on selected higher value items shipped overseas. Where Fed Ex isn't included as standard you will see the option to upgrade to Fed Ex shipping at checkout.

PLEASE NOTE : Sadly, I no longer ship to several countries. I no longer ship items of diamond jewellery to France because a French law prohibits courier services like FedEx from using their own-in-house brokers to do the customs clearance as is the norm in other countries.
I also do not ship to Germany because of the complex legal packaging requirements and registration. Also, Ukraine and Russia.

PLEASE BE AWARE : Customs duty and sales tax levied by the destination country are always the responsibilty of and payable by the buyer, this includes all destinations in the EU.

We can do Layaway on any item over £200.00. Typically the payments are spread over 3 months but can go up to 6 months for higher priced items (you only pay the ticket price, no interest is added) Let us know which item you are interested in and we will outline a plan for you.

> We allow a 7 day grace period for late payment.
> If you having difficulties making a payment please let us know and we will try to work something out.
> You can make a payment early or pay in full at any time.
> If a layaway plan is cancelled for any reason or the item is returned after delivery, we refund the monies paid minus a 10% of the item price administration fee
> We list is Sterling/GBP so if you are viewing in a different currency please note that as the exchange rate can fluctuate slightly from day to day, your monthly payments may vary accordingly. We have not increased or decreased your payment amount and it is out of our control. It is usually nominal and can be up or down.
> The item is shipped after the final payment has been made.
> The listings are posted on Etsy and we send you a link by email. The first payment is due within 24 hours.

Please remember most Antique and Vintage items will have some wear commensurate with age.... It's part of their charm!
I try to describe things honestly and will point out any obvious flaws. I provide good clear images which you can 'zoom' and these help form part of the description so please view them carefully and ask any questions if you are unsure.
I check all items carefully but the very nature of antiques and vintage means I have no idea of the future lifespan of the item and very occasionally faults can come to light that were impossible to anticipate so regretfully I cannot offer any guarantees.

Diamond Certificates and Appraisals

In the UK most antique & vintage diamond rings do not come with certificates or appraisals. I do have some pieces appraised by a registered independent National Association of Jewellers Appraiser & Valuer and this will be clearly stated on the listing. I have over 25 years experience selling jewellery and I carefully test, check and measure everything with professional equipment.

Ring Sizing

We can now offer a ring sizing service.
However, the jeweller is not on site so the turn around of the resize can be slow approx 14 days. If you would like a quote or more information click 'ask seller a question' on the item page.

Please be aware that if a ring is resized by us or by your own jeweller it cannot be returned.

Most high street jewellery shops resize and you can get a perfect fit by going in person. If you prefer this option we are happy to offer advice as to whether a ring may be altered to your size.
We list in UK sizes and then convert to US by using a chart.
You can use this conversion chart for all International sizing standards.

Gift wrapping and packaging

All items come with a beautiful new presentation box and the ring boxes also have a matching card box tied with a ribbon. Wherever possible we use environmentally friendly, recyclable packaging and pack with care so your item arrives in perfect condition.

Payment Plans & Layaway

I'm happy to offer a payment plan/layaway on any item over £200. Payment terms range between 2-6 months depending on price.

Shipping & Customs

All our items are shipped with Royal Mail or Fed Ex and you will receive a tracking number. We aim to despatch your order within 2 business days.
We are based in the UK so buyers outside the UK please be aware you may be liable for Duty and/or Taxes on your purchase.
