Hobby to Passion
It excites me beyond belief that I can create something beautiful and something that will bring pleasure to others from something as simple as a hook and yarn.
There is the whole other aspect of crochet for me that not many others are fortunate to experience. It is a connection to my family roots, knowing I'm doing something that was passed through the generations to me, and hopefully one day, will pass to my daughter. It's inspiring and humbling.
How many women throughout my family had perfected their craft to help support their families, similar to what I'm doing today. When my great great great grandmother taught my great great grandmother to crochet was it out of necessity or fun?
I do it for both. I love crocheting and would be creating items whether Whipple's Whimsy existed or not. I am fortunate that I can something I love to help support my family. The best of both worlds!

I am a simple woman of simple means living simply. I was taught to crochet by my great grandmother who had come to America from Ireland when she was only 5. I am married for more years than I like to admit and have a beautiful little girl.
