Augustopia se creó por capricho después de muchas solicitudes de empleo fallidas y rechazos después de graduarme de la universidad. En el verano de 2021, me gradué de la Universidad de Surrey con una licenciatura con honores en Criminología. Empecé a buscar y postularme a trabajos en septiembre con la idea de que en un mes o dos habría conseguido un trabajo.
Sin embargo, no fue así. Cinco meses después, todavía no había conseguido trabajo. ¡Ni siquiera me ofrecieron una entrevista en ese tiempo! Se dice que los efectos de la COVID-19 tuvieron un impacto enorme en el desempleo de los graduados universitarios porque los estudiantes que se habían graduado en 2019, 2020 y 2021 luchaban por los mismos puestos de trabajo, lo que reducía mucho sus posibilidades de conseguir un empleo.
Después de cinco meses de rechazos y de sentirme realmente perdida, mis padres intervinieron y me hablaron de unos amigos que tenían un negocio de impresión 3D que iba bien. Así que esa noche encargamos una impresora 3D con la esperanza de que, al menos, me diera algo en lo que concentrarme y ocupar mi tiempo.
Ahora mi negocio está creciendo y estoy trabajando para alcanzar el sueño de que este pueda ser mi trabajo/negocio a tiempo completo.
Augustopia was created on a whim after many failed job applications and rejections after graduating from uni. In the summer of 2021 I graduated from the University of surrey with a First Class Degree with Honours in Criminology. I started looking and applying for jobs in September with the view that within a month or two would have bagged myself a job!
However, this was not the case. Five months later still no job. I wasn't even offered one interview in that time! The effects of Covid was said to have had a massive impact on the unemployment of university graduates because students who had graduated in 2019, 2020, and 2021 were all fighting for the same jobs making your chance of securing a job much lower.
After five months of rejections and feeling really lost my parents stepped in and told me about their friends who had a 3D printing business that was going well. So that night we ordered a 3D printer with the hope that at the least it would give me something to focus on and occupy my time!
Fast forward to now my business is growing and I'm working towards the dream that this can be my full time work/business.
