A Mother's Inspiration to Create
El 13 de noviembre de 2019 traje a mi preciosa hija, Genevieve, al mundo y la vida no ha sido la misma desde entonces. Fui maestra y pude tomar licencia médica para estar en casa con ella durante 6 semanas. Sabía que volver al trabajo sería una de las cosas más difíciles que he tenido que hacer, pero con una hipoteca de $ 2,000 al mes no tenía una opción. Así que volví a trabajar después de las vacaciones de Navidad en enero y pasé unos 2 meses lejos de mi bebé Gen. En ese momento, mi esposo y yo tomamos la decisión de vender la casa de nuestros sueños y mudarnos con mis padres para ahorrar para otro pago inicial para comprar una casa más asequible. Todo esto con la esperanza de poder quedarme en casa con Genevieve. Ella es mi inspiración, mi alegría, mi mayor logro. Ella también es adorable e hilarante; ¿Qué más me gustaría hacer con mi tiempo?
Entonces, ocurrió el coronavirus. Cerraron nuestra escuela y nos encerramos en casa de mis padres. Aunque esto fue difícil, recuperé mi tiempo con Genevieve; tiempo precioso que no habría tenido de otra manera. Después de sentarnos con mi esposo y resolver nuestras finanzas, rápidamente nos dimos cuenta de lo difícil que sería sobrevivir con un solo ingreso. Él también es un maestro, y sabes cómo se les paga a los maestros. Así que comencé a pasar mis horas de encierro haciendo una lluvia de ideas sobre cómo podría quedarme en casa con Gen y traer un poco de dinero a la casa.
Eso nos trae hasta aquí; Gráficos de Genevieve. Siempre me ha encantado el diseño. Mi licenciatura está estrechamente relacionada y mi primer trabajo fuera de la universidad fue en una tienda de letreros diseñando. Mi objetivo con esta tienda no es hacerme rico. Solo quiero apoyar mi estilo de vida de madre que se queda en casa y divertirme un poco en el proceso.

On November 13th, 2019 I brought my precious daughter, Genevieve, into the world and life hasn't been the same since. I was a teacher and was able to take medical leave to be home with her for 6 weeks. I knew going back to work would be one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but with a $2,000 a month mortgage I didn't have an option. So I went back to work after Christmas break in January and spent about 2 months away from my baby Gen. In that time my husband and I made the decision to sell our dream home and move in with my parents to save up for another down payment to purchase a more affordable home. All of this with the hopes I would be able to stay home with Genevieve. She is my inspiration, my joy, my greatest accomplishment. She is also freaking adorable and hilarious; what else would I want to do with my time??
Then, corona virus happened. They closed our school and we went on lock down at my parents' house. Though this was difficult, I got my time back with Genevieve; precious time I would not have had otherwise. After sitting down with my husband and working out our finances we quickly realized how difficult it would be to survive on one income. He is a teacher too, and you know how teachers get paid. So I began to spend my lockdown hours brainstorming about how I could stay home with Gen and bring in a little money to the house.
That brings us here; Graphics by Genevieve. I have always loved design. My bachelor's degree is closely related and my first job out of college was at a sign shop designing. My goal with this shop is not to become rich. I just want to support my stay at home mom lifestyle and have a little fun in the process.
