Acerca de Humdinger Designs
Humdinger Designs es un pequeño estudio de arte en metal en Osoyoos, BC, Canadá, construido en torno a una idea simple: crear piezas únicas y de alta calidad que sean agradables de tener en cuenta, no solo para mirarlas una vez y olvidarlas.
Lo que empezó como un proyecto compartido se ha convertido en un taller individual dirigido por mí, Steph. La escala ha cambiado, pero la intención no: un diseño cuidado, materiales de primera calidad y un trabajo digno de un hogar de verdad.
¿Por qué trabajo con metal?
Siempre me ha gustado hacer cosas con mis manos, no sólo dibujarlas o planificarlas, sino pensar en cómo se combinan y cómo envejecerán.
El metal cobró sentido de inmediato. Es resistente. Es limpio. Capta la luz de una forma que cambia a lo largo del día, proyectando diferentes sombras según el movimiento del sol. Cuando una pieza está bien diseñada, no se queda simplemente en la pared; se integra a la habitación.
Cómo se ensambla una pieza
Cada pieza comienza como un boceto digital. Lo ajusto y perfecciono hasta encontrar el equilibrio perfecto. Durante el proceso, pienso en:
Qué tan fuerte es la estructura
Qué limpio y abierto se siente el espacio negativo
Qué tan seguro quedará colgado
Cómo se moverá la luz a través de la superficie
Si algo parece extraño, recargado o un truco, no avanza.
Creado para vivir con él
Las piezas de Humdinger están fabricadas con materiales de la más alta calidad y terminadas para resistir en la vida real, en interiores o exteriores.
Un estudio para una sola persona
Humdinger Designs es solo yo. Diseño el trabajo, manejo las máquinas, termino las superficies, empaqueto las cajas y respondo los correos electrónicos.
Mantiene las cosas simples. También significa que cada pieza ha pasado por mis manos, de principio a fin. Cuando mi nombre está en ella, presto atención a los detalles, incluso a los que la mayoría de la gente no nota.

What began as a shared project has become a one-person workshop run by me, Steph. The scale has changed, but the intention hasn’t: thoughtful design, premium materials, and work that belongs in a real home.
Why I Work With Metal
I’ve always liked making things with my hands — not just drawing or planning them, but thinking through how they’re put together and how they’ll age.
Metal made sense right away. It’s strong. It’s clean. It catches light in a way that shifts throughout the day, throwing different shadows as the sun moves. When a piece is designed well, it doesn’t just sit on the wall; it becomes part of the room.
How a Piece Comes Together
Every piece starts as a digital sketch. I adjust and refine until the balance feels right. Along the way I’m thinking about:
How strong the structure is
How clean and open the negative space feels
How securely it will hang
How light will move across the surface
If something feels off, busy, or like a gimmick, it doesn’t move forward.
Built to Be Lived With
Humdinger pieces are made from the highest quality materials and finished to hold up in real life, indoors or out.
A One-Person Studio
Humdinger Designs is just me. I design the work, run the machines, finish the surfaces, pack the boxes, and answer the emails.
It keeps things simple. It also means every piece has passed through my hands, start to finish. When my name is on it, I’m paying attention to the details — even the ones most people never notice.
