Category and Search Catchup

Original Post
From Mike:
"In order to make sure all listings are in their categories and show up on searches, we forced our system to re-copy a very large amount of recent listings to the databases that are responsible for searches and categories early this morning. As a result, categories and searches will not be functioning normally until all the data is processed. Either myself or someone else will be sure to update everyone when the data is finished copying."
To clarify, this means that some listings may not appear in their categories and search for the next few hours. They will catch up throughout the day, and will appear in their proper place in the timeline.
Listings are still appearing properly in shops, the recently listed tickers, the time machine, and all flash applications.
We appreciate your patience on this matter.

why are items not showing up in searches that were listed way in the past? I was curious and did some searches and can't imagine how anyone is finding anything, since huge amounts of listings aren't showing up where they belong.

that's correct I can't find hardly anything listed in my store. An some of the counters in my store have reset back to one. Is that a problem?

castleman, in efforts to get all the data syncronized, some of the older listings are also being affected by this. Once the data is done being synched later today, it should be back to normal.

"Appearing in their proper place in the timeline" is not great. This means that those of us who have been listing since last night have not been seen. That's not right. Not everyone knows all of the sellers on here, so the first page has been stuck where it is and the rest of us are SOL. Most buyers don't page back past the first 2-3 pages. And many of them just click on a category. GREAT NEWS for the listings on the first page! Especially since they've been stuck there all day. I think we should get our fees refunded or get the relistings of these unseen items free.
Please advise.

A lot of items had come back since the original post this morning only to go poof once more. This whole peek-a-boo thing sucks......just sayin'. :/ Good luck!!!

I'm SO glad you posted, Daisy, because I thought I was going crazy when I would check the category again and it looked like a step back. THANK YOU! :o)
