I supported you. I really did. I believe in supporting my President. I might not have agreed with everything you did or said but I made excuses for you. I tried to understand you. I appreciate you sense of humor even. But really, can we talk? The economy sucks. My husband was laid off 9 months ago and the only job he's been able to get since pays 1/2 of what we was earning. He works 2 jobs now and we still can't pay our bills. Creditors call us day and night. We are so close to losing our house it's frightening. I cry a lot. This morning I cried for at least a half an hour in the shower so my husband can't hear me. I need to stay strong for him. Yesterday we got a bill in the mail from the IRS saying we owe YOU $3,000. I'm not sure how this happened. I'm sure it will be worked out. But really, isn't this like smearing salt into our wounds? Today I saw a news article that you're encouraging us to spend our tax refunds. It will make a strong economy. OK, we did, we paid our electric bill. I know we're not the only ones in this situation. Are you blind to the state of what used to be your middle class?
Sincerely,
A disillusioned American

31, if Bush had his way, you'd have more money in your pockets and a stronger economy due to less government burden.
He can't control Congress on economic issues; you'll have to thank Nancy and Harry for that, but they think you have too much of your own money.
While powerful, he's just one man with a cranky Congress.

Bush *did* have his way with Congress for quite some time. He ruined us economically. The war in Iraq has sucked us dry.

Arg. I should have learned my lesson by now.
I need not to discuss politics.
I'm going away now. Right now.

Bush's government has been a trickle down porta potty.
