Hi, I am gathering material to write a blog post on adding value to your product. I would love to highlight some Etsy sellers who have found ways to do that.

My example is that I added travel photo inserts to my luggage tags with lines on the back for writing your name address etc. It cost me to have the inserts custom made, but I wanted to add value to my product.

Some jewelry sellers ship in gift boxes - that is a value add that I appreciate.

Would love input from you on creative ways you have added value to your product. Here is one I would really love - how have you added value to your vintage items?

I throw in a postcard print with every order. I just like getting extra little things and hope the buyers do too.

oooh, that is a good one, Toxicguineapigs! I would love a free postcard print with an art order - perfect! I want to show one of your items with a link to it, like in a treasury, on my blog, if that's okay.

Consider checking out Nataliaraya. Her packages are always beautifully done. Her blog had a recent entry about her hunt for packaging materials in her new home in Guatemala.

I think she is a great example of adding value to your product by thinking of packaging and swag.

For my packages, I always add a little something from where I live Costa Rica. Normally, chocolate covered coffee beans.

I always add samples to my orders. And they are nice sized, I think. Sometimes, even a free full sized product (depending on order amount). I'm also working on a few new items to give as freebies and my thanks to my customers.

Sometimes I have enjoyed extras that are not related to the item I ordered. I don't want to recommend that shipping internationally you add something else to the order because your buyer might have to pay a tax on that item just to be able to receive the one they ordered. Be careful there.

I am looking not so much for swag, but for adding to the value of the item itself. Although with art, getting a freebie smaller print is doable and welcome.

This year I started making address labels & sticker seals to go along with each card

Soap samples good. What about something creative like an aroma therapy scent chart? (I don't know...)

I include a few free beads (stars or moons) and wrap up my product in an organza star bag, tissue, and ribbon. I figure this way if it's a gift, they can use the materials for wrapping and giving.
