Original Post
Didn't know about this site until I was contracted on mturk.com to index a forum thread.
www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6488998&page=1
This one. I had to go through each post and generate some statistics based on what people said to help them with their investigation.
That was a month ago.
Has etsy paid for the work? No.
There was a base fee, and the way it was set up was to have a bonus paid per page. 100 pages, means 100 times the base fee.
But guess what happens if they don't actually come in manually approve and pay it as contracted? the site just defaults to the base pay and I'm screwed out of 99% of my pay.
They have until tomorrow to manually approve it then I'm screwed for the hours of work I did for them.
The thread showed a very clear pattern that most people were losing sales, but take solace in the fact that etsy isn't just screwing its customers here, it's screwing the contractors they hire to help them fix the mess.

etsy put out a contract on mutrk.com to have someone index that thread to generate statistics on how many people were having problems.
The pay was structured as 30 cents, but then a bonus paid of 30 cents per page. That's 30x100
$30. Took 5 hours. I submitted their stats a month ago. Apparently they've used them and made statements about them since then (frankly misleading ones, looking at the thread)
They haven't returned to the site and approved the work though and paid for it. After 1 month (which is tomorrow) its auto approved, but the only thing auto approved is the base pay of 30 cents.
I've sent e-mails through the site which have been ignored.

Etsy has a bagillion employees these days so why would they pay a non-employee to deal with anything?

I don't think this is going to be helpful.

Yes Mturk.com is an amazon thing. It is a contract site where people can put out freelance contracts to get menial tasks done. Etsy used this site to get work done to solve the users problems, but refuses to return to pay for the contract they put out.

I don't know how mtruk evaluates their contracts, but it kinda sounds like you may have been scammed by someone posing as Etsy.
