So I know you've got em...Craft show Horror Stories!!
Share them here! We want to know we aren't alone!
I'll go first. We had our 3rd show this weekend (a two day show). First of all, there was NO TRAFFIC at the show at all. The organizers did a terrible job with show promotion.
Second, the organizers were on total power trip. My grandmother who came to visit, sat down at an EMPTY table across from ours with her friend to rest for a bit. After they had been sitting there for about 15 mins. the organizer came to me and said "Do you know those women? If you do, they need to leave, they are making everyone else look bad by sitting there at an empty table."
Mind you, there was nobody even walking around the show...NOBODY. And what looks worse, a vendor who didn't show up, or two 75 year old women who are sitting at a table to rest?????
grrr..

That's terrible, MMS! Craft shows can be a gamble. I went to a couple last summer where there was NO ONE there! That is such a horrible feeling to know how much work you put into getting ready for it and then it's a total dud! I feel for you.

At my first market I had the 'pleasure' of being placed next to a woman who was also selling jewellery (no skin off my nose, it was entirely different to what I sell). After she spent 15 minutes grilling me on what resin jewellery was, she deemed it acceptable and announced that I was able to stay (Gee, thanks.) She then spent the morning wandering away from her stall, asking me to look after it for her. Come 1.00pm she decides it's beer o'clock and heads off to the pub for two hours, comes back pissed as a fart and proceeds to swear at two elderly people sitting on 'her' public bench.
It was so much fun.

It really was hilarious, mms. :)
Apart from the being rude to an elderly couple. That made me mad.

Sorry to hear about your show.
We went to a show 2 years ago that was in one of the "best" subdivisions in the area.
Everyone who came had a yard sale/street booth mentality. They wanted yard sale prices "because you just made it at home" and then wanted to haggle more on the total price if several pieces were bought. We refused to go back this year.
