Can we expect as many site updates as live how-tos for July?

I'm a bit confused so bare with me. I do not understand why we cannot get a list of site updates (for ecommerce) that are being worked on for July but we can get a full list of how-tos Etsy has planned for the month of July. Even if all of the site updates aren't completed it would be nice to know what is priority for July.
Furthermore, I cannot understand why we are having how-tos. Why are you teaching buyers to make what is being sold on Etsy?
I thought this was an ecommerce site? Why aren't we focusing on bringing in buyers and encouraging them to shop around and buy instead of making things?
I would much rather the "community" team focus on category updates (like the art category we've been promised but can't seem to get an update on) and making the themed showcases actually full of relevant items.
I love Etsy, but I'm very confused.

The thing is, the more people that etsy teaches to craft, the more sellers/stores they get to sign up and the more revenue they rake in. Right daniellexo? ;)

The more people making a living making things is better for the world in general, in my opinion. I can't speak for all of Etsy :)

I think what folks are saying is they want more "business oriented" products from etsy - seller support services.

I'd like to see more business advice too. We already know our craft/art or we wouldn't be here.

If Etsy would like more people to "make a living" from crafts, I would suggest improved seller tools and a larger advertising campaign as opposed to recruiting more shop owners.

I'm glad ya'll are so "giving". Don't agree with teaching it here, but obviously you all (etsy) think different, and won't back down on that.
So anyway- no workshops on choosing a shipping carrier, managing inventory, approaching shops to do wholesale & consignment, things like getting upc codes and vanity phone numbers, or anything related to bettering and running a business?? Besides crafting with acrylic (things that ALL business owners can learn from).

We've done a whole bunch of these business related sessions in the past and will continue to do them. I'll try to schedule a whole bunch for August. Thanks for your feedback sococreative!
