Etsy, will you please step up and defend yourself?

I've seen so many threads lately about how "violators" are taking over the site, selling things that don't belong and are getting flagged left and right and nothing is being done about it...and although I personally understand that you have to prioritize and that not every shop or item flagged will necessarily get removed - just because the flagger wants it to, I really am sick of seeing the posts that say "Well, they just don't want to lose out on the revenue that comes from those shops listing those non-allowed itmes". I know this to be true as do many others, but it bothers me to see that opinion repeated so often here in the forums. Won't you please send out a mass convo or something equally effective, to reassure sellers that the mission hasn't changed and that Etsy is not going to turn into Ebay at any moment? I enjoy being in the forums and having intelligent discussions with all kinds of people, but the attitude lately has been really depressing...

ok people - stop! i don't want to know how to find porn on etsy :)
it's just there is a history of nudes/life drawing being equated with porn by some users on this site
BTW - i did search porn and 'nudes' but didn't have time to go thru fine art, bodies or anything else (PS: people are much more open on flckr btw)

if something is not true vintage and only vintage inspired....I am talking about USED clothing in particular...it is not etsy. in my humble opinion.

i get the feeling that the flagging issue is so cumbersome to deal with behind the scenes that, as artisanwoodcrafting says, the staff have lost control of it

I think Faux Vintage or vintage inspired would be a fine tag to use on the reproduction typewriter keys that people use here.

Oh in that case I agree.
I thought you meant in regards to everything. I am talking about my jewellery which is sometimes 'vintage inspired' :D
