Original Post

A retake on the classic by Robert Fulghum...

All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand pile at school.

These are the things I learned: (and how its translates to Etsy)

• Share everything. (create a treasury and spread the love)

• Play fair. (follow the TOU)

• Don't hit people. (convo admin instead)

• Put things back where you found them. (or at least leave kind feedback if you love your purchase and don’t want to return it)

• Clean up your own mess. (don’t discuss personal convos in the forum)

• Don't take things that aren't yours. (resellers, take note)

• Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. (in a convo, not in the forums)

• Wash your hands before you eat. (or craft)

• Flush. (enough said).

• Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. (pass around in chat or a juicy thread).

• Live a balanced life - learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some. (obvious, it is etsy after all!!)

• Take a nap every afternoon. (the best crafters and artisans do)

• When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands and stick together. (join a team)

• Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: the roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. (some things just can’t be explained, so they go in geekery or everything else)

• Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup - they all die. So do we. (some weeks, sales are just slow, and when you get a hamster on your screen or the uh-oh, so is etsy.com)

• And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK. (visit daily and click around, you will always be amazed or inspired!)
