Original Post

The top sellers back link all their items. I am just beginning to do this. For example:at the end of this description of one of my pottery mugs, I include a link back to my mug section.

This makes it easier for those browsing the shops to further see my products. It reduces my bounce-rate.

Also add in a related link, like darshanpottery you could add 'mug goes great with this pitcher' or whatever. This is an example of what I do:

thanks for the back-link tip, I will try it :)

Hi Earthstyle

Are you allowed to mention your website or a blog off Etsy? I thought I saw somewhere that was frowned upon. But I will for sure link back to the main shop. That is excellent.

Someone else mentioned that recently and I added it to all my postings. Whoever thought of this was genius! Thanks, darshanpottery, for bringing this valuable and absolutely simple technique for having our customers get "lost" in our stores.

I'm a backlinker... LOL sometimes when applicable to both shop and section... see

Hi JanetCrowley, yes you can link to your site or blog as long as you are not selling the same items as in your etsy shop. My site uses the etsy mini tool, so all my items brings the buyer right back to etsy, if they want to buy anything.

backlinking is a great idea. I have a variety of different things in my shop, so it is a big help.

Thanks for the clarification on JanetCrowley's question. I was thinking the same thing but thought it was such a brilliant idea that I was going to do it until Etsy wagged its finger at me.
