Has Nancy Pelosi faced her last Hurrah?

"Her four predecessors, all of them talented and dedicated men, could be cited in support of the British parliamentarian Enoch Powell's maxim that "all political careers end in failure."

Sharia law for UK and US?

"Choudary is a former British solicitor, Muslim cleric and the spokesman for the group Islam 4UK. He appeared today on "This Week" on ABC hosted by Christiane Amanpour where he made the statement below. He has spoken in favor of the attacks of September 11, 2001 and supports the idea of Sharia Law as the law of the land in the UK.

“We do believe as Muslims the East and the West will be governed by the Sharia. Indeed we believe that one day the flag of Islam will fly over the White House."

Why do we keep switching threads?

More from the brain trust:

news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101004/ap_on_el_se/us_senate_o_donnell_china

Republican Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell of Delaware said in a 2006 debate that China was plotting to take over America and claimed to have classified information about the country that she couldn't divulge.

<snip>

She said China had a "carefully thought out and strategic plan to take over America" and accused one opponent of appeasement for suggesting that the two countries were economically dependent and should find a way to be allies.

"That doesn't work," she said. "There's much I want to say. I wish I wasn't privy to some of the classified information that I am privy to."

"Why do we keep switching threads?"

-----------------

To keep things relevant, fresh, and up to date. Political discussion that's a few weeks old is a bore. Of course, political discussion that's a few hours old is probably a bore also.
