I decided to open my Etsy shop to show you all my handmade jewels.
I'm 26 and in my free time i love crocheting and tatting; I create handmade jewels, especially earrings, with these techniques.
I really can't imagine a world without handmade, so i take great care of details.
My grandmother Teodolinda (as the longobard queen :p) taught me crocheting during a holiday in the mountains, when I was 8 years old. Some years later she wanted me to learn tatting, and so I did. I went to one of her friend, her name is Rossana.
For my works I usually take inspiration from the shapes of flowers and I often use antique tatting pattern books (above all 1920s books).
As you may know, tatting is a very antique lace making technique and it was largely used during the victorian age (1837-1901).
The italian word for tatting is "chiacchierino" that reminds someone who chats, because women in the past usually met to make laces and chat about everyday life.
