14kt GOLD FILL - 5% by weight outer layer of solid 14kt gold (lasts many years, 100 -1000 times thicker than plated gold- mid range cost

SOLID GOLDS- pure gold, all the way through to the center, and can be in different percentages, as most jewelry is NOT made of pure 24kt gold (999 gold)...
most items are either:
10k (.416 parts gold)
14kt (.575 parts gold)
18kt (.750 parts gold)
out of 1000 total parts.- expensive cost

If someone states gold fill has 20% gold, they are misinformed....It only has 5% gold percent of total weight.....If someone tells you gold fill is solid gold, they are not telling you the truth. If someone says they can sell you 10kt gold for 10.00, they are clearly not being truthful with you....Be informed, and dont be taken advantage of...Most jewelry sellers on etsy have gold fill, and this is not to be confused with SOLID GOLD, as they are NOT the same thing. I sell both items in my shop to allow for better options.
