ARTIST INSPIRATION:

Amsterdam is a wonderful city to draw. The decorative roof tops are so unique, I had to design a scene of the historical flats along the canal. I selected a traditional nautical palette of colors including blue, red, and white, the colors of the Dutch flag. The sky is a dark blue that makes the roof tops pop out. It's quite playful and vibrant in person.
