Men's fashion has become somewhat boring, you'll pardon my saying so. But it wasn't always. A good example is the ever-popular swallowtail coat. A functional and yet swaggering, rakish garment if there ever was one, for both gentlemen and scoundrel.

This style of coat-dress was called a joseph or riding coat (borrowed in French as "redingote"), with full-length, tight sleeves and a broad collar with lapels or "revers".

This version of the Swallowtail coat is comprised of a solid Black Tapestry Cloth and lined with black lining. Black velvet adorns the lapels, collar and cuffs.

Adjustable cuffs and ornate brass buttons adorn in fine fashion.
